Hirons' original play was called "When Women Wee" and used an ensemble cast of five to play all the parts. It opened at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, before transferring to the Soho Theatre in London.
In the opening titles, Sheridan Smith's character Sam is given the star sign Gemini. Sheridan's star sign is Cancer, however co star Oona Chaplin's star sign is in fact Gemini.
Sheridan Smith and Oona Chaplin both featured, although not together, in the Channel 4 series Dates which was broadcast earlier in the same year.
