Named to the 2012 National Film Registry by the Library of Congress due to the scholarly research of professor Caroline Frick, executive director of the Texas Archive of the Moving Image. She discovered that the creator of this unique film project, Melton Barker, had crisscrossed the U.S. for some 40 years remaking the movie, literally "hundreds" of times; Prof. Frick has managed to find almost 20 versions.
