I'm curious to know the demographic of people who love this enough to tune in on a daily basis. To be honest, I'm curious about that when it comes to daytime television in general. Like really, who's watching this crap?? Are they old, young? I guess they wouldn't be young, because young adults have jobs, so they leave the house early in the morning and don't get home until the late afternoon or nighttime. Even if they're unemployed, I doubt Karamo would be of any interest to them. My theory is older people mostly watch this and other trash programs. Well, to be more specific, older people who don't have hobbies, and are always gossiping/meddling in other people's business. That's the only type of person I can think of who has the time to watch TV throughout the day. It's awesome Karamo was previously a social worker and psychotherapist, but just like Maury and Jerry Springer, he's exploiting people from marginalized communities by having them come on his show to air each other's dirty laundry. Plus the episodes are redundant! So many of them are titled "unlock the phone" and it's couples on the verge of breaking up because one suspects the other of cheating. The only time I found myself actually caring is when this gay guy wanted to repair him and his mom's relationship. Otherwise, Karamo's focus on straight people's drama is really boring. You'd think being gay himself, he would have more LGBTQ+ guests. The production for this was such a waste of time and energy. Why doesn't Karamo return to the human services field? There's a lot of people he could help, of all races and gender identities, without being on television. He just wouldn't make as much money. Social workers aren't exactly rich, but that's not why they chose their occupation. They wanted to improve the lives of people who have a mental illness that's exasperated by different problems such as housing instability, lack of food, and family dysfunction, among others, by connecting them to resources. Which is why I question if he's for real or just a bs-er who wants a paycheck with a lot of zeros. I have a feeling it's the latter. What a shame.
