Hogcock! (#7.12)

Warning: Spoilers
Liz is trying to adjust to being a stay at home mother, but it is too hard for her and it seems lie Criss doesn't enjoy working. She now tries to get back to NBC but Kenneth has a crazy criteria for shows, yet she has to make one more TGS episode. Jack is finally where he wanted to be, but he is unhappy and resigns from his job.

So this is the first part of the finale, and I love how it is going. first of all, it seems they are not making Liz a stay at home mom, so relieved! I also loved how she discovered internet fighting, oh it is so authentic. I have similar whenever there is too much free time.

Kenneth in his new position was also a pleasure to watch. Especially his confused relationship with Jack and Tracy because of it.

And it had some awesome lines. "You never new what you were talking about, you are just an alcoholic with a great voice!" "Goodbye forever, you factory rejected dildos!". High class comedy!

~sniff, a tear~

I just finished binge watching the series from episode 1 to the last episode of season 7... An amazing amalgam of different actors and actresses, each providing a just in time break in the shows. Many brilliant social observances...I didn't always like the social commentaries but; the writers made them palatable...I loved all the characters and Tina Fey has shown herself to be brilliant... This show sits on the same bar with Parks and Recs, Always Sunny, Mad Men and some others. It would be difficult to raise that bar. Nay, Impossible...:)...Thanks.

Last Episode Ever!!!!!!!!!!
madmrox10 December 2013
Warning: Spoilers
****WARNING MAJOR SPOILERS**** I'm so sad that that was the last I'll ever see of Liz Lemon and her lovable gang. In saying that I'm happy that they all finally got what they wanted and were happy with their lives. We get to see them all go their different ways and say bye to each other for the last time.

We see Jack sail off on a boat into the night sky, only to return a few minutes later after coming up with a brilliant idea. Kenneth takes Jack's position and Liz finally adopts kids with Criss. The writers all try to enjoy the last free lunch that they'll get together, a big argument breaks out when they find out that it's Lutz who gets to choose.

For me the best part of this episode was Tracy and Liz saying bye to each other in a typical Tracy way, in a strip club! As sad as that was to watch it was still funny, which made it better.

It ends with Jenna singing a final heart touching song. A definite 10/10 for a great end to a great show.

Solid ending

Warning: Spoilers
This review contains spoilers.

"Last Lunch" is the thirteenth episode of the seventh season of 30 Rock. The episode is both the season and series finale. All the main characters and side characters are given a conclusion that for the most part feels satisfying.

The characters that we came to like in the show are given one last episode. The writers are given a fun story where Lutz picks the last lunch. Even the conclusion with Jack Donaghy, and Liz Lemon feels satisfying. It felt that the two greatly enjoyed each other's company and the two are different characters since the first episode.

The ending with all of the side characters have hilarious moments and it works story-wise. The ending feels appropriate and does finally confirm the theory of Kenneth.

I would recommend "Last Lunch".

Grade: B

30 Rock Season Seven

The seventh and final season of 30 Rock resolves all of the plot threads from the sixth season. The plot points are fun to watch in this last season. I had a great time watching and saying goodbye to the characters.

This last season is bittersweet. I enjoyed the shortened length of thirteen episodes as every plot point headed towards its resolution. Fans will see Jack Donaghy square off against Kaylee Hooper as Hank Hooper begins to reitre. Liz Lemon and Criss enter into a rocky stage in their relationship. Tracy begins to create other shows and films with his studio. Kenneth becomes involved with Hazel.

This season did get more involved and engaged as the season barrelled towards its conclusion. The last episode is a great episode that touched on almost every character and story arc.

I highly recommend the seventh and last season of 30 Rock. This season is a great capstone to 30 Rock and every important character returns for the last season.

Lemon, I figured it out!
hi-384869 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I love this episode. It was a great close. Also it didn't make me go "What?" Like the rest of the show. It was actually pretty funny.

"Good god, Lemon, I figured it out! I'm coming back! Clear dishwashers! Thank God I took this boat trip!" that made me laugh so much.

""What did you do to Al Roker to make him do that?" "Let's just say his wife is on the board of a children's hospital and they need a celebrity for a gala. And I threatened to do it.

It was a great ending. With Criss and Lemon being happy together in the end.

Oh the funniest part in my opinion was "Paula! I mean who's Pete?" The way they ultimately decided to end the show seemed good until flying cars flied behind the window.

Warning: Spoilers
Liz is getting her family dressed as they leave for school and work leaving her now a real house wife. She now must join other women online where she is made fun of by these mothers. She seems bored which is why she visits Jack as he finally seems to be achieving his job he always wanted. Kenneth is now the NBC president and Tracey cannot get the help of Kenneth because of how bust he is. Liz meets with Kenneth looking for a job and while she has a good idea he is not looking for what she is selling. Jenna now out of a job is ignored becoming a dramatic TV actress. Jack is feeling he has everything now but does not feel full anymore wanting to solve his problems. Liz fights with an online mother going to meet with her at a park. Jenna try's TV but does not like it then flying to Hollywood to become a film actress. Chris is that other mother and Liz finds out Chris does not like work which gives her the opportunity to work while he stays at home. Liz goes back to Kenneth giving him a show he is looking for. Quick montage of Jack achieving most things in his life with some cameos between Jack, Nancy (Julianne Moore) and Elisa (Salma Hayek). Kenneth informs Liz of another episode she must do so Tracey does not get a lot of money. Jenna try's L.A. but all the blonde's being younger then her makes her fly right back to New York. Tracey finally speaks to Kenneth allowing him to get on with his job as the NBC president. Liz needs a job but no help comes from Jack as the two seem to fight. One last show to go and while Tracey try's to get his money Liz knows all his tricks by now. The show must have a final lunch with the pick coming from Lutz. Jack still feeling empty try's to apologize to Liz but she wants to hear nothing from him. Tracey is trying to end the show with his close friends making fake news. Jack comes to Jenna looking for advice to talk to Liz but only being told of the grudge Liz can hold he breaks down in tears showing he true cracks in his character. The writers try to get a different lunch but Lutz is ahead of them all the time. Jack is now acting crazy now and Liz starts to notice the problems he could have. Jenna is told about now showing true emotion with the show ending. Lizis now worrying for Jack and if he would kill himself. Tracey has gone missing and Liz must find him in the strip club which seems like an obvious choice. Liz solves the Lutz problem going to the strip club getting Tracey to do the show again. Jenna finally shows emotion as her dressing room is taken away. Liz sees Jack's suicide video then going on the search for him allowing the show to go without her. Jack does not kill himself only going to discover something new. Back at the studio the show ends and Jenna sings her final song. Jack comes back with a new idea straight away then going to black. We then see how these characters are getting on one year later as they are all still connected. I feel I will never be able to write down my thoughts of the ending of this show because like most people I have had a rollarcoaster relationship with the show never really giving up on it. All the performers were once again great and while the one year jump was uncalled for at that point I did not care at all. Great ending to one of the most important shows in comedy history.

Emotional end
safenoe4 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
It's easy to forget that 30 Rock and Aaron Sorkin's Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip debuted on NBC at the same time. Conventional wisdom was that Sorkin's powerhouse series be the one that would survive the first season, with 30 Rock being a one season wonder. But history has proved otherwise.

So ends 30 Rock after 7 seasons. What an emotional ending Last Lunch was. Jenna's emotional ending song was from the heart, as was seeing Tracy saying farewell with the cast and real-life production crew surrounding him. Jeff Richmond, Tina Fey's husband, was in the front seated.

All good things come to an end and 30 Rock wrapped up at the right time.

Last Lunch (#7.13)
ComedyFan201023 December 2013
Warning: Spoilers
And this is the end. On a final show day Lutz is in control of choosing the final lunch. Liz and Jack work on their grudge and Jack tries to find something that will make him happy. And everyone tries to find their way to say good bye.

A great finale. Man, I hate finales! I didn't want it to end, but they made it so perfectly. The conversation that Jack and Liz had at the boat was beautiful and just made me cry. I loved their friendship! And his boat ride that gave him an awesome idea was hilarious!.

I was also glad to see Lutz getting what he wants. The whole part of him fighting for the blimpies was very funny.

And yes, I loved how it ended up for everyone, including the fact that Trcy's bodyguards seem to be the stars of the new show Liz will work on.

Season 7: Bows out with a solid finish
bob the moo31 March 2013
The fifth and sixth season of this show were not really up to the standards set by the previous seasons and the news that the seventh was to be the last didn't really upset me much as it seemed about right. I did worry that this season would be a rather weak end to the show though but mostly it avoids that. Using the cancellation of the show within the show as the frame for the season the show gets a decent structure around which to build other plot lines and of course throwaway silliness. This is important as it prevents some of the silliness which overwhelmed the show in previous seasons and reduced how funny it actually was able to be.

In this case though the structure provides a good base for everyone to do what they always have done to good effect. There isn't much new in here but it still feels fresh and regularly funny when the characters do the things we know they will do. So Liz is Liz, Jack is Jack, Tracey is Tracey and so on. It works well for the most part and it is only when the plot needs to come to a head for the final few episodes that it doesn't feel quite as solid but even then it works pretty well. The cast are all on very good form indeed and they benefit from less silliness and plenty of very good lines and scenes throughout the season. The many guest stars I could perhaps have done without because they often bring little more than novelty to their bit – apart from Conan O'Brien, whose appearance made me wonder why they bothered using something with such terrible split-screen effects.

Overall though this is a solid final season. The structure of the plots hold it together and provides control in the middle of silly bits and plenty of good lines. Again not as good as it was at its best but certainly not disappointing; a good way for all the characters to bow out.
