A Resting Place, But Not a Full Stop (I hope)

I don't want to give spoilers on this show, since the tension build up to the finale was real and any viewer who gets spoiled will miss out on a lot.

So instead I'll just leave a short note to praise what is the best new show of the season in my opinion.

---

The cinematography continues to amaze and the writing is quality to match.

Every character has a distinct voice, a fully fleshed background, and logical reasons for why things happen the way they do. (Even when unexpected)

The shortened season may have led to some additional exposition in earlier episodes. I'm not sure.

However even then, the way the information download was handled was miles above many other shows' attempts.

And the actors.

Give an excellent, professional cast great material and watch them soar.

At first, I thought the show's key art might be indicating this was "only" the Abby (Kat McNamara) show, which honestly was enough to intrigue me.

But keeping me watching? I'm interested in EVERY character on this series, EVERY story line and arc.

Did I spend the week intensely worried about Gus (Philemon Chambers)? Heck yes.

And the true dedication both to historic treatment of marginalized people while still giving those same people voice? A+ (Will you get a slight trans phobic comment this episode? Yes, as would have been in this era. Is the character a villain against whom Kate (Katie Findlay) rises above? Even more so.)

---

The finale brings us to a "resting point" in the story, but leaves the door open that it's not a full stop.

And truly, the show deserves to be watched by a much wider audience.

I wish it had been put on netflix for repeats, like All American was. In my opinion, that's where AA gained traction and eyes.

Hopefully people begin to stream it on CW by word of mouth and the show is renewed.

Would be absolutely a crime if it was not.

Love this show

Warning: Spoilers
Started with Abby finding Gus and running to help him by immediately using all her strength to move him, very heroic! We then get to a very impressive shoot off as the team takes down Tom to get the answers that Abby has been waiting so long to hear. My favourite scene was the shootout, very well done and loved the cinematography during it. Such an epic scene! So relieving to get all the answers we were looking for the whole season! This show has been amazing in making us fall in love with every character and really care about them. I also loved the scene where Abby plays the piano, was very beautiful! I really hope we get to see more of the characters in a season 2!!
