Misleading Title

Warning: Spoilers
This documentary doesn't really deal with the case of Young Thug and Gunna. That's just bait to get views. Instead this documentary focuses on an obscure 90's No Limit label rapper who did time for a shooting. Their lyrics were used in court however. More importantly an eye witness fingered them for the murder.

Similarly all the members of the YSL gang snitched on each other and copped plea deals. In the end their rap lyrics had little to nothing to do with their convictions. Plea deals and snitches did.

If you enjoy misleading descriptions for documentaries and flimsy evidence presented about the topic explored this is the documentary for you!

The title and description are misleading

They talk about a rapper from New Orleans for 95% of the doc.. it's not a series and it's barely about the ysl case..there's a cover picture of young thug and gunna as if these two are the main subjects..no this is about. Another rapper that did 20 years in prison for a false accusation based off of his lyrics and being in the wrong place ( a shooting scene with a gun) at the wrong time.. and couldn't beat the trial. They barely talk about gunna or young thug at the beginning and wasted most of first and only episode talking about the rapper from New Orleans. There's some celebrities speaking on these two case's through out but not focusing on ysl Rico trial.. I'm not sure if there's more to come. This is very misleading.and was very disappointing.

Falls apart immediately

Warning: Spoilers
The opening scene is someone playing Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody from their phone. The song lyrics are 'mama I just killed a man. Put a gun against his head, pulled my trigger now he's dead'. Then the guy says 'he just committed a murder in the song.' So the premise is that black music, rap, gets taken too seriously and lyrics about murder can be used against them whereas white music, rock, isn't treated the same. No one believes Freddie Mercury actually killed a man that he sings about in Bohemian Rhapsody. I get where their coming from, but there's also a big glaring difference between these genres. Rap is largely associated with gangs and gang culture. The majority of rap songs talk about murder, violence, and drugs. Rock music isn't mostly about these things.
