a case where the surfactants missing...

The robert wone case of washington dc ,2006-2010-____. A case that seems so obvious from the start, but fades deeper and deeper into olivion of the smoke laid by the defendants and their lawyers, and the proscecutioners and stupid teqnical mistakes done by their csi squad and homicide detectives. Its like playing ludo in stead off lido when deciding what kind of trial would be best for the fallout for the prosecutions case.

Peacock has really made the grounds for a very good product of true crime story telling, a very dissapointing conclusion to every part involved, though it couldve won even more credibility if they couldve got interviews of the ex defendants.

A well above feature movie length 2 part minitvseries packed with factuals, just a tiny percent of dramatization, therefore a recommend from the grumpy old man.

Clue Meets Clueless

In the grand tapestry of true crime documentaries that dot our Netflix queues like so many unsolved mysteries, "Who Killed Robert Wone?" emerges as the dark horse that somehow gallops right into the absurdist theater. This documentary grabs you by the collar, tosses you into a rollercoaster, and halfway through, you're not sure if you're trying to solve a murder or decipher the plot of a David Lynch film. The filmmakers present a case so tangled that if Sherlock Holmes and Scooby-Doo teamed up, they'd end up debating the nature of reality instead of solving the crime.

Amidst the chaos, there's an odd charm to how seriously everyone takes themselves. You've got investigators throwing around theories that seem to have been inspired by a late-night binge of Agatha Christie novels, mixed with a bit of "Ancient Aliens" for good measure. And let's not overlook the true-crime sleuths, who, with their corkboards and red yarn, give off the vibe that they might just solve world hunger if they ever manage to untangle the mystery of Robert Wone's death.

By the end of "Who Killed Robert Wone?", you're left with more questions than answers, a slight headache, and an unexpected appreciation for the documentary's ability to make the utterly bewildering entertaining. Whether or not you come out of this cinematic labyrinth with any sense of closure is irrelevant; what matters is the journey - a bizarre, convoluted, yet strangely captivating trek through one of true crime's most peculiar cases.

Interesting if frustrating two parter-reveals police homophobia, lawyers' arrogance &loved ones' pain

Warning: Spoilers
I wasn't aware of this case until this documentary and it is, no doubt, perplexing, upsetting and disturbing for all involved.

Some of the most irritating parts of it are, however, related to the egos and of the cops and lawyers, and this could mean that the loved ones of Robert (a lawyer who had put his brilliance, training &skill towards making the world a better place rather than accruing cash or kudos) may never get the answers they deserve.

The outright homophobia of investigators/prosecutor that entirely distracted them from properly considering, collecting and following evidence, whereever it took them.

Why would the heck would a prosecutor bring any case at all, when there clearly was insufficient evidence to convict? Ego? Re-election? (the system in the USA is weird in this way, why not get the best lawyers to prosecute rather than those needing to be electable?! Why are they so often involved in the investigation-stay in your lane so you can be objective ffs) Most frustratingly for me as a viewer was where was the evidence collected about connections to Mr Wone's work at Radio Free Asia? An organisation funded by the USA government that will obviously be a target of certain republics that don't like their propoganda bubbles burst or firewalls breached? Might a nation like that have operatives in Washington? Do they collect information about what's in the closets of law makers and policy influencers int' capital of their arch enemy? Do they have a history or getting rid of problems in ways that are unexplainable or don't look like a hit? Could they have people who can get in and out of places undetected????? Nothing, nada, this significant part of the victim's life & potential motive not even touched on.... I hope to god it just wasn't covered in this doc, that was sooooo focused on BDSM and open relationships, and that it was considered and properly investigated by the police (and Kirschner?!) I'm in no way suggesting certain people are innocent or guilty (under 2 hours of a peacock doc that is fixated in exactly the same way as the investigating officers can't reveal anything of the sort to a viewer) but there are real flaws in how 'merican justice allows male egos and biases to run roughshod over all sense and objectivity to the detriment of victims' and their families.

Rest in Peace Mr Wone and thoughts to his loved ones.

A SLAP to people who think ONLY CONCRETE EVIDENCE matters.

Warning: Spoilers
This case is so STUPID that i have no words. You HAVE to listen to my spoilers. In the end, the judge LITERALLY believes that these 3 idiots who live in a house who somehow happened to have a dead body with them, ARE INNOCENT!!! Lol. And she doesnt believe that any intruder or anyone might've committed the murder either. But she STILL THINKS THEY'RE INNOCENT!! And you know what? SHE LETS THESE 3 IDIOTS, who were the ONLY SUSPECTS in the murder. GO AWAY SCOTT FREE!!!

WHY??!!

Apparently because lack of "cOnCrETe eVIdENcE"!!.

There you go. Her logic is so broken its HILARIOUS.

So you're telling me if a horrible murder took place & LITERALLY EVERYTHING is pointing towards the KILLER & hes also showing the signs of guilt everytime the victim's mother or father asks him who did it. HE WILL NOT BE SEEN AS A KILLER or CHARGED AS A KILLER because lack of again "cOnCrEtE eViDeNcE".

This is how you know us human beings can get BEYOND stupid. DUMBER THAN DONKEYS. LITERALLY.

This shows how you can just become a fool of your own beliefs by trusting ONLY the Concrete evidence for EVERY. SINGLE. CASE & no circumstantial evidence. It proves how the Judge is incapable of being a human & can link the dots to the killer. She can only be a robot who blindly follows concrete evidence. This judge has all the circumstantial evidence available to put these killers in jail. BUT WONT because shes blind in her belief of delivering perfect justice & following ONLY concrete evidence. This is how you get MEME'D TO NO END.

This case is proof that the Judicial System is a HILARIOUS JOKE played on innocent people with no shame in sight. It cant get any better than this.

Typical of its kind

Warning: Spoilers
After watching 3-plus hours of video interviews with various snarky, weird, and self-aggrandizing characters of every conceivable description, and suffering through the endless commercials on Peacock, many of which must have cost twice or three or even four or five times what the actual production of the actual series cost, you will know absolutely nothing more - and I mean not one whit, not one speck, not one teeny-tiny bit more - than when you started out. You will not know who killed this sorry guy, or why they did, or even what he actually died of. No, friends, you will know absolutely nothing. The mystery will remain as mysterious as it was before you even knew it was a mystery. You will have wasted your time utterly and completely. The only thing I recommend this cheesy bit of fluff for is taking naps. For that, it can't be beat. (Minimum character limit met.)

Boring documentary because it doesn't answer its own question Warning: Spoilers
I have heard about this case long before, but never thought it was an exciting case because I think we all know what happened. Three men killed a fourth, but the lack of "concrete" evidence leads to their acquittal. This documentary tries to maximize the mystery of how Robert Wone could be killed without the slightest trace of violence, beyond the stabbing. Unfortunately, it will just be a long harangue of staged interviews with the police investigator vs one of the defense attorneys. No new theories, clues, motives or evidence are presented in the documentary. I recommend this documentary to anyone who has never heard of the Robert Wonge case, but for anyone else familiar with the case, the series brings nothing new to the table.
