"Just walk away."

That's the moral of the story, if you create a mess that is now someone elses problem, don't worry! It's not your problem anymore! Not that I care about the moral of a fictional story - this is a great episode I have much nostalgia from my childhood for and I do very much enjoy it.

'Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated' "The Horrible Herd" (2013)

Opening thoughts: When getting into 'Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated' for the first time, "The Horrible Herd" left a big impression on me and was along with particularly "Escape from Mystery Manor" and "All Fear the Freak" the episode where memories afterwards were particularly vivid. With the creepiness of the atmosphere immediately standing out. Although 'Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated' is creepier than most Scooby Doo incarnations, "The Horrible Herd" is one of the creepiest in particular.

It didn't disappoint at all. Season 2 saw many of its episodes faring even better on rewatch, thanks to appreciating some aspects more and finding more positives and "The Horrible Herd" is no exception. Season 2 started getting great with "A Night on Haunted Mountain" after a strong streak of very good episodes with one slight stumble, and continues its greatness with one of its better episodes this, one of the season's creepiest and most heartfelt. When it comes to the 'Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated' must see episodes, "The Horrible Herd" is very close to being one of those.

Good things: "The Horrible Herd" is recommendable in every way. It is beautifully and atmospherically animated as to be expected. Love the background detail and the mix of vibrant and foreboding in the colours (mostly the latter which fits the darker mood). The music still fits harmoniously with the mood and what happens.

Love the gang interaction and the voice acting is excellent. While Matthew Lillard nails it as Shaggy and always will be the best of Casey Kasem's replacements, Frank Welker has also nailed with the meatiest material he has had in a while.

Furthermore, "The Horrible Herd" is full twists and turns, all plausible and never feeling confusing or too much. The episode has a complex without being too much so. It has also one of the creepiest episodes of the show, not just because of the truly terrifying cows but also because of how increasingly evil the old Mystery Inc are. With Pericles being dangerously close to becoming a megalomaniac in every sense and how despicable Brad and Judy have become so quickly also shocks. Everything with Nova breaks the heart.

Closing thoughts: Concluding, wonderful.

10/10.
