Elizabeth returns home after recovery from her gunshot sustained in the series 1 finale.
I enjoyed this one for how it instantly hooks with an intriguing whodunnit, increases the danger level for the Jennings family and as always presents a compelling portrait of the main characters and their relationships.
There's no slow burn in the story that kicks off the second series, with things picking up pretty much where they left off and putting a new more perilous spin on the lives of spies couples. It feels a lot scarier than what we saw previously, particularly for parents. In doing so it presents a few mysteries that no doubt with be tackled over the course of series 2, which makes it gripping right from the start.
I loved the quite ironic sequences that sum up where Stan is with his relationships with Sandra and Nina that involve him having to sit through the same movie with both woman in very different formats and circumstances. Also, we see a very awkward breakfast sequence between the Jennings' in which I very much felt Paige's pain for what she witnessed and just to make it worse what she subsequently had to listen to from her rather hypocritical mother.
As always the cinematography and editing was great, along with the performances of all actors particularly Holly Taylor, Annet Mehendru and Susan Misner all who had memorable moments.
