Best show on television!

Season 3 can be the point where a show either starts to thrive or trail off, but I think season 3 of Dave absolutely crushed everyone's expectations which were already decently high. From innovative, thought provoking storylines paired with talented actors/actresses, to hilarious scenes that will have you cracking up for minutes, or awkward stressful situations that have you on the edge of your seat, I believe this show has revolutionized television. I was really pleasantly surprised by the guest appearances and just all around creativity and thought put into the show. Will throw thing at you that you would never expect. So smart and well done, anyone can thoroughly enjoy this great show. 11/10.

Onwards & Upwards

Wow! What an episode! This one came completely out of the blue in a subversion of the genre, in the best possible way!

Out of all the finales this week (Barry, Succession, Ted Lasso), I think this might be my favourite - at the minimum it was the most inspired, unique and enjoyable out of all of them!

The episode cleverly ties all of these story lines that have been building all season together in a satisfying way, delivering high stakes, comedy, drama and suspense along the way - the episode being double the length of standard episodes also allows them to pull you into the plot without stretching the story, or starting to feel boring.

Overall I think this was one of my favourite episodes of this show, it just continues to improve episode over episode, season over season and I'm incredibly excited to see where it goes next!

WOW!

Warning: Spoilers
First off, what an insane month of season finales, the fact that Dave, Succession, Barry and Ted Lasso all ended with 9.5+ is just glorious. Those finales were all great but man this one was insane. Never in a million years would I have imagined Brad Pitt and Rachel McAdams would not only show up on this show but have major roles. The first half of season 2 had me a bit worried about the future of the show, but the 2nd half was excellent and Season 3 ended up being the best overall IMO. Really great writing, cinematography, tons of funny moments and huge surprises. I hope they can carry this momentum into S4 and continue being one of the best comedies on TV!

Punched well above his weight with these guest stars

Wow! What a season and what a finale. This season felt like a season of Curb Your Enthusiasm as it was so star studded with A-listers. Props to Dave for writing in the opening scene with Rachel MacAdams and manifesting what has likely been a goal of his for many years. Brad Pitt is as calm as his Cliff Booth character in this suspenseful season finale. I thought the ending was cute but didn't give the audience complete fulfillment. It seemed like this could've been a very satisfying end to the show, but I suppose there needs to be room for further character development in the next season. This season overall has been super strong and at its peak.

Why!? Warning: Spoilers
Every season has ended with a dope Lil' Dicky performance. This one just finishes with a cameo from a dope (Drake). Drake is an actor (even as a rapper he's acting) but he does nothing for the scene. It sounds like he didn't bother to learn the lines and was doing this as some annoying obligation.

I think it would have been a better ending if they had explored the Robin angle further. Throwing Drake randomly in here because people see him as some sort of barometer of rap was a big miss. Lil' Dicky has more talent than Drake has in his pinky finger.

I would have rather seen Courtney Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, or that KY skid rapper they had on the Met Gala Episode. I was disappointed but hope they got the Drake out of their system.
