Last 30 mins is epic nonsense!!
sunnypaaji26 December 2023
The whole oxygen cylinder drama is utter nonsense and perhaps just added to create some tension in the climax which fails the movie miserably. Why would someone park a bike in the middle of the river? The director & writers must have been smoking weed while writing a ill-logical climax. By the end of the movie the "radhe radhe" girl is still a coward because she waits till morning to take the oxygen cylinder to the hospital because she doesn't have courage to talk freely to her mother. By the end of the movie, the team-lead is still a selfish women leaving her team behind because she couldn't accomplish her personal goals but in the end still makes to the cover of the magazine. Dia mirza culd have asked the cops to call her husband and get her talk to him & reached the hospital first, but hey the silly director wanted to show all girls show up together in the morning as a 'sign of unity'. 5 stars just because first hour is fine. Sequel of this movie ?? Change the director and story writers and then plan one.

Nice women centric film with a grt msg !!!
sanjubhat23 December 2023
Film Review: Dhak Dhak streaming on Netflix

The theme of the film revolves around 4 women Uzma ( Dia Mirza) , Mahi ( Ratna Pathak Shah) , Sky ( Fatima Sana Sheikh) & Manjari (Sanjana Sanghi) who undertake the perilous journey from Delhi to Khardungla pass in Ladakh on their bikes ( yeah , an all women's biker gang !! ) in order to escape the monotony of mudane lives that they r living, constantly being judged for their actions as women in a male dominated society and basically not being able to live their lives in the way they want to!!

It is a story of adventure, with emotional backstories of each of the lead cast, a journey of self discovery and a way to prove to the world that women are no less capable than men in any way.

It is a simple film with great performances by the lead cast !! The film may seem a bit slow in the first half but as it progresses, there r a few heartfelt moments along banter between the women which will strike an emotional chord with the viewers. Women might relate to it better than men perhaps.

A decent one-time watch. Not bad at all. Cudve been a bit more fast paced in the first half though.

Going with 3/5 for this one... Adios 🙂!!

Sumptuous Cinematography But A Flat Plotline
t-d-t-m8210 December 2023
It's about a group of courageous biker girls living their dream as a unit and biking the long roads around India.

There's no real supporting units or anything like the prep involved if this was done for real. It's remarkable that more punctures didn't occur. One bike is washed-away in what can be (arduously) described as action in slow mo but not the John Woo kind just very very slow shots of rushing waters and an age of repetition shots and then the panic of the actors but no clue of how to save a bike which would not start. The cinematography could not even save this dull plot.

This movie has the same theme of the group trying to find themselves and they eventually do; once the journey is completed. Now it's ridiculous that it took 2 hours 14 minutes for this to happen with so much dross context which could have been edited out.

However that's not even the worst bit. The older women unfortunately gets into health issues and they get her to a hospital. There they find out that she needs oxygen. This in what appears to be a built-up city/town and in a Hospital which already has modern equipment.

I'm sorry but this is just weird and stupid. How this is even possible is just ridiculous and the execution is just terrible. Even the actors look awkward as they express their gratitude that she's safe because they know how terrible the script is!

It's a shame as had they cut out this sheer stupidness it would have been a better road movie. I understand it's based on a book of a real trip but if the Director got creative influence then he really should have just stuck to the book!

It's far too long and wounded and repetitive on silly stories and narratives. Cinematography is excellent and there's some strong acting in parts but it's just really average I'm afraid.

The quote that sums it up is 'now I have the confidence to go on the nice wide roads' when she's on a B road and nothing like the six lane highways you get in Asia. Lol.

No feel good factor
pathakj29 December 2023
This movie was supposed to be inspiring, feel good kind of but it has so many moments that it becomes difficult to tolerate and at multiple stages you have to skip it by few minutes. I don't know but I feel depressed, Movies are supposed to be your way out of life troubles, you know good 2 hours of fun but lol this was not fun. It has less scenes of biking on roads, more of character's life troubles despite being promoted as movie that takes you on journey. Youtube vlogers offer better quality of shots, life journey, real problems and what not. You definitely can give it a pass, there is nothing you will miss. I'll suggest youtube, some vlogers have better content and quality.

Four women bikers on a road trip
madanmarwah30 April 2024
This is a story of four women of different age groups and backgrounds who have a common passion of going on a road trip riding their motorcycles. The eldest is Mahi a grandmother out to prove she is something to reckon with, the second is Uzma a middle aged housewife with a dominating husband and a teenaged daughter, the third is Shashi a young woman vlogger recovering from a broken relationship and the fourth is Manjari an orthodox, timid young woman on the threshold of getting married. They all their reasons to be a part of this 7 day road trip from Delhi to Leh organised by Shashi as an assignment to present to her boss so that she can move to Barcelona for a project.

The movie will specifically relate to women, bikers and to road trip/ adventure lovers in general. The plot is fairly predictable since we all know what happens on a road trip and just about everything happens here. The tyre puncture, the breaking down of bike, the minor accident, the roadside dhabas, one of them lost enroute and then found, the bad weather/ terrain, falling sick ---they are all there. Of the good experiences there is friendship, bonding, the spirit of adventure, self discovery and good times spent not forgetting the helpful truck drivers and fellow travellers. The movie has a well directed, fairly interesting narrative, some good acting by the four actors and excellent cinematography of the picturesque locations. It is not without flaws and cringe worthy moments but then which movie doesn't have them ?

Surprised to see it!
omiazad26 December 2023
Honestly I am not sure how this movie got 6 ratings on IMDB. Too many dialogues, too many philosophies. May be the producer, director, and all the crew wrote the speech and whatever they had in their mind, put in the script. This movie did not need any music, but they even pushed couple of songs in there. Absolutely useless. Cinematographer seems like an intern. Whatever technics he learned, applied in the movie. Unnecessary pan, unnecessary zoom, unnecessary drone shots. Boring story, boring philosophies. I would suggest not to waste time on this movie and spend your time on something good. They could end this movie in like 45 minutes.

Travel helps you find yourself
madhavisawant-793649 December 2023
Movie is an absolute delight for all the people who dream for an adventure.

It is showing characters living different shades of life and everyone has their own problems.

The movie gives a very good message, we are always tensed when it is our problem and we get solutions if it is neighbor's problem so try to be your own neighbor and you will see the problem getting solved in no time.

Journey to the adventure is more important and helps us to reflect on your current life we are living. As in the movie they say "Manzil jaruri hai yeah safar?" Both are equally important just enjoy as you live it.

Dont fall for the fake reviews
rehmankhilji17 December 2023
I'm having difficulty grasping the concept behind filmmakers initially creating a senseless movie. The casting and placement with the roles was very confusing. Not sure if the director was trying to make a road trip movies, but everything missing of a road trip.

Fatima Sana Shaikh, the actress known for one successful film, is still in search of a movie that defines her identity. Unfortunately, it seems unlikely to come from this particular film, where she appears utterly clueless and more bored than the audience.

Dia Mirza attempted to portray a character from a humble background, but with those styled hair and expensive shawls, it's unclear what the director was thinking.

Ratna Pathak Shah, the sole performer with talent and experience, has exhibited the same in this utterly forgettable movie.

This is a poorly executed road trip film with uninspiring dialogue and storyline. It's advisable to overlook it for your own benefit.

Good road movie
vasanisalim12 December 2023
Movie sticks to it's core premise of four women on a bike tour without unnecessary twists or melodrama. The bike scenes feel authentic. Some of the issues they experience on the road are relatable. All the actors have performed well but Ratna Pathak Shah steals the show. I watched the movie with my family and we weren't bored. The movie moves along well. All the four leading ladies have their own unique personalities and issues. The cinematography is good and the locations look pretty. I have previously been stuck on the road and have been helped by good samaritans and vice versa. The movie shows some good samaritans helping out fellow travelers. Keeps your faith alive in humanity.

Learning to listen one's own heartbeat, alas faintly.
chand-suhas18 December 2023
Dhak Dhak takes four stranger women on a road trip. One is a vlogger going through an identity crisis after invasion of her privacy. The other is an elderly woman who happened to win a bike in a competition. Then there is the scared girl whose marriage is fixed and is confused about her future. Lastly, a bike mechanic in a toxic marriage who wants to provide for her daughter. How these four come together to go on a biker's pilgrimage and what challenges they face during their journey to the destination as well as gaining strength to stand up to their personal lives' issues.

It is the performances especially from Ratna Pathak Shah and Fatima Sana Shaikh that carried the film whereas Sanjana Sanghi and Dia Mirza got the most impactful scenes. The characters' backstories were slightly underwritten and it tackles the emotions mostly on the surface level. Winning a bike in a lucky draw alone wasn't enough to justify the long ride to the biker's haven, leaving much of it to Ratna Pathak Shah to make it work. Despite it's shortcoming, the film definitely worked in parts and I wished the final act was handled better instead of throwing in quite a lot right from the monk to tackling the family members when one's life was at stake.

Good movie for bike riders
debojyotichakraborty-2411610 December 2023
Those who have seen the movie Lipstick Under My Burkha, will find many similarities with the thoughts of that movie. Entire movie based on woman empowerment. This is the story of girls moving forward despite age and religion.

Ratna Pathak's acting is perfecting as she grows older. Dia Mirza has been an underrated actress ever since. Whenever she gets a chance, she gives his best performance.

Storyline is very bad and very old quality. Twist and turns is very simple. But the cinematography is impossibly good. Good movie for bike riders.

If the movie was made more carefully and had a good storyline, it could have gone to the list of good movies.

Liked It
ketanjrsharma23 December 2023
It's based on true events. The actoresses have done a good job in depicting the real life people and life how it is. It's not unrealistic crap.

The flow of the movie is nice and it's directed well. The step by step progress and challenges are well depicted.

The one thing I liked is the journey which is lovely and inspiring. Also everything is not about posting it on social media the real adventure or trip or travel is for you and how you feel about it.

How bikers feel and how they enjoy the journey is real. I can really imagine the fun and feel of such travels. Loved that part.

The message of female empowerment is clear and people should really understand why it is important for everyone men and women to have the freedom.

charming road movie, a real treat after ages
tarekali-1990920 December 2023
This is a charming road movie, a real treat after ages. Four women at different life stages, all with varied backgrounds and motivations, unite in a mission. They live to ride and ride to live to the top of the world, showing that both the journey and the destination matter, a riddle that has plagued humans for eternity.

The cinematography and music are outstanding, you witness the amazing beauty of India as our bike squad ascends the continent. They undergo a journey of self-discovery and introspection and come to terms with some of the troubles they are fleeing from.

I must give special credit to Ratna Pathak Shah for playing the indomitable matriarch Mahi. She stole every scene and was the true center of gravity for the 3 women seeking meaning in their journey, having already entered the twilight of her own.

Ultimately the timeless question of journey or destination is answered. Life is, after all, about experiences ... and who you meet along the way can change the course of your life.

A feel good movie for those who don't understand bikers
chiarra-7444110 December 2023
If you have bikers in your family or among your close friends, this movie would shed light on why they're so passionate about life. The aspect of bringing four female protagonists to the table with relatable and simple to understand back stories gives the film a warm and heartfelt connection for everyone. The actors evolve as the film asks the viewers two important questions, what is more important, the journey or the destination? And leaves it upto the audience to answer the same. Worth the watch with good music and the film provides a taste of India with views of the north the world needs to see.

One of the rare gems Bollywood has created
bikramjeet-9319413 December 2023
This film was fantastic. It was very refreshing. The cinematography was quite good too. I really liked how the characters were developed. It makes one get on a trip to the Himalayas too.

The acting was superb and many contemporary issues that women face were addressed but at the same time the film didn't seem to have a preachy vibe. And I liked that about it.

I definitely recommend this movie if you are in a mood for feel-good movies. It is truly one of the rare films modern bollywood has created. Bollywood films nowadays are utterly crappy so I had zero expectations when I started watching this film. I'm happy it exceeded my expectations.

Amazing Movie
jilu-8814328 December 2023
If this movie had male actors it would have been hit like Zindagi na milegi dubara! But unfortunately not all man can relate with women's emotions and fears and not all women expresses support for the movies they like. It is high time that as women we stand up for movies that is led by other women. We can't just complain without doing our part.

So here I am trying to do my part and giving this movie the ratings it deserves.

It is a story about 4 individual female all in different age groups and dealing with different situations. How this trip changes their lives. It is a reminder to all of us out there if we just take one step for ourselves and keep hope within, situations will change and you can overcome your own limitations.

fahazcryp13 December 2023
Amazing movie with light characters leaving right lessons on the most hard topics in someone's real life.

You can relate to the characters in no time and the best part of the movie is that there are not only 4 traveler's but as an audience you will travel with them all along.

The cinematography is pitch perfect, being a biker myself I can relate the craze we bikers hold to reach new destination everytime we are on the roads.

Royal Enfield team, kudos as this can be the best way to market your products by showing the people what they are made for.

Actors, kudos. Brilliant performance.

And last but most important, girls out there Just Ride.

A Must Watch
msguptathorndale30 December 2023
Please watch. That's all. Don't read the reviews. Do justice to the team of the movie makers. This movie should have been given a theatrical release. Pls ignore all the "Neg Nan's" who have given it a poor rating. A must watch Dhak Dhak. Thank you.

I don't want to name movies made in the past that have a similar theme, but this movie surpasses all those movie on all criteria for success. You will experience a hangover for days and it's a gripping experience throughout the movie.

Without speaking on the content or the actors, all I can say is a "must Watch movie" and later assess and analyze it yourself. You too will return to write your own review of this movie. Kudos to Tapsee Pannu for producing this gem in the ocean of motion pictures on OTT. You did a brilliant play in Dunki, but this from your production house is such a great piece. Thanks to you and your team for Dhak Dhak.

Road leads to life, and harsh decisions to ponder upon
shauryamishra77726 December 2023
In this faintly connected world this movie is hope of sunshine that makes you consider life choices made by you or for you!

Especially if you are a girl in India, things are already tough and growing up you either be Rebel in Hiding or have to carve your own space, but the movie make certain things looks super easy as soon as the glossy screen is off, stark n gloomy reality hits you that how though it is out there and extremely few are able to do such things because they have the privilege to do so, which all the characters and makers of this movie are,

but still a fun watch and lot to consider! So have fun!

Anyways I must appreciate the effort done by the makers in uplifting women of India as every step counts and waiting for my favourite actress Tapsee to create more such gems!

Now if you saw the movie you will under how much Royal Enfield money was invested in this and looking at the track records of 2 wheeler accidents please consider thousand times before you monkeys will start a blind trend to do the same as usual original thoughts are hard to come by in this copy paste world.

An absolute delight.
yashdtt18 December 2023
What a wonderful feel good movie. It tells you a story of four friends who come together from distinctive backgrounds and age for their passion to travel and finds themselves and each other in the process. After all long time I saw a film that is so inspiring. Wonderful acting, wonderful cast, wonderful storyline and an absolutely wonderful experience watching this. It reminded me when I travelled through ladakh, though most of it was done by Jeep, some motorcycling and flights. But it's just so relatable. Next summer I am certainly doing the route to Khardungla on a motorcycle with friends all the way from Delhi!

Pure joy ! What a treat !
laxmisunil-7251319 December 2023
The movie that ticked all the boxes! A feel good movie with beautiful songs that blend so beautifully with the storyline!

The best thing is feminism or the real independent woman is presented without any unnecessary drama or bad mouthing of men.

The casting was apt and they all did a neat job.

The scenery, the freshness of the story, the dialogues all were so pleasant and thought provoking.

Such movies are a blessing to the entertainment domain.

There is more to life than the mundane routine for existence.

Life and the world are to small to comprehend! But with a big heart and a great friends the journey is worth of the destination !

Hats off to the team of this gem of a movie!

meownationtimes25 December 2023
It is a must watch movie...different, simple and entertaining. Movie is about 4 women bikers who are at different stages of life.. their age, profession, background, mindset is different from each other yet they have a common destination goal. The movie shows how they come together for a common travel destination and their experiences, hurdles while traveling. All four main actors are great actors- Ratna Pathak Shah, Fatima, Sanjana, Dia Mirza have played their role very well. The end of the movie makes the audience emotional and overwhelming. Our forces and our soldiers are the highlight of the movie.

The best movie in the longest time
visenajita16 January 2024
The dialogues/acting/story everything was absolutely bang on. No one could have done it better. Such a beautiful story of 4 women. Every character was given such a beautiful limelight, it highlighted each story in the perfect way. Not at any point I felt the story was dragged or mislead. I hope such stories get more limelight more attention. Dil dhadakta toh humesha tha dhak dhak hua Aaj hai - just one of the few amazing dialogues that gave me goosebumps and teary eyed !

A perfect picture you can watch with your family this weekend! I am definitely motivated and inspired after watching this. Keep going!!
