Sex & Nudity

  • There are two instances of implied sex; the first happens at a party, at which a door is closed suggestively, and the second happens as the cameraman barges into someone's house, only to discover a man and a woman half-dressed in their bedroom.
  • In the same bedroom scene, the camera lingers pointedly on a female's bottom half as she wears a large t-shirt over her underwear.

Violence & Gore

  • A man smothers a child to death with a pillow; the body is never shown, though a struggling form is seen writhing underneath the bed sheets. The man also aims a gun at the antagonist, but never fires it. A woman is then choked out by her husband, after which she pushes him down the stairs, killing him. The woman then lights the house on fire, and is later seen in a mental institution with intense facial burn scars.
  • A dog dies from unseen events. The body is unmarked save for one film-specific scar.
  • Two male characters have a sprawl in a hotel room that ends in one of them kicking the other on the ground.
  • A character hangs himself off a balcony in a house, only to fall to the ground and become re-animated, complete with bone crunches and glassed over eyes. He beats a man with a bat, with the blows landing heavily, but hidden from the camera's view. The bat is shown with dripping blood. A woman is then hit in the head with the bat and instantly killed, as the reanimated corpse flops down beside her.

Profanity

  • Some religious exclamations, such as "Jesus Christ" and "Oh my God".
  • Several uses of "shit".
  • Several more mild profanities.
  • Four uses of "fuck".

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Partygoers drink from red cups at a New Year's party.
  • A character abuses pharmaceutical pills on-camera, and goes to rehab programs. In one scene, a woman comes home in the morning, exhibiting signs of inebriation. Her pills are later flushed down the toilet.
  • Characters drink alcoholic beverages at a bar scene.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Jump scares are frequently achieved when the antagonist is shown on-camera. The scene fuzzes and buzzing noises occur.
  • The antagonist stalks a children's birthday party.
  • There are several instances of dogs barking loudly after intermediate periods of silence.
  • The lights go out in a character's house, forcing him to inspect his home for any sign of the source. He is stalked by the antagonist the entire scene.
  • The antagonist visits many characters while they sleep, changing the colors of lights, and sometimes shutting electricity off altogether.
