Toni Collette has joined the cast of comedian and screenwriter Mae Martin’s Netflix thriller series, Wayward.
Mae Martin began performing stand up comedy at 11 years old, and since then they have become a regular on the circuit. Their first stand-up special Sap was released on Netflix last year, and they also appeared as a contestant on series 15 of Taskmaster, winning the series.
In 2020, Martin starred alongside Charlotte Ritchie in the sweet comedy drama Feel Good, which they also wrote with Joe Hampson. The autobiographical show followed stand up comedian Mae as she tentatively began a relationship with Ritchie’s character George, whilst dealing with trauma from her past. Both series are available to watch on Channel 4.
Martin’s next series is Netflix thriller Wayward, which they created, will executive produce and act as co-showrunner with Ryan Scott.
