Caroline Needs To Go
zekesgirlcm13 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Overall I like the concept of this show, however, Caroline is so annoying and aggravating, she is so egotistical and thinks she's an expert on everything, when in reality she can't do anything right, especially public speak. She always insists on being the forefront of every single challenge. She can't get along with anybody, especially the other women, with the exception of Sydney (although that is fake but Sydney hasn't figured it out yet). I'm not sure why she's still on the show, when almost every epic fail has been caused or created by her, and yet she's always the victim. Perhaps, Gordon sees something in her that, I and many others, don't, that's the ONLY reason I can see for her still being on this show. Every week I feel sorry for the other contestants that get partnered with her, as it inevitably ends with one of their demises, instead of Caroline's demise. This show would be so much better without her Junior High drama.

entertaining enough

Warning: Spoilers
I'll start out by saying, it's not MasterChef or Hells kitchen, but I enjoy it. Not sure what all the heat is for. Contestants on a show shouldn't really affect the rating. It was filmed months ago. I can't stand a lot of the people either, yes caroline is ridiculous and should have been pulled off the show by now. Lol. But if you enjoy the challenges and you like watching Gordon Ramsay's shows, I find it super entertaining. It's something to watch.

Since I have to use a certain amount of characters in my review, I guess I will add, I cannot believe Aaron has stayed in the competition this long. He really does not belong there. He is embarrassing lol.

Also, one of the other reviews mention that the show ended after five episodes, and there was not an episode for a month. That did not happen at all. I think the longest we have seen without an episode is maybe 12 days and we're on episode eight right now as I write this. So people are really judging it before the show has even ended. If you don't like it move on.

Amusing Enough, but No Real Stakes
agers-8379630 July 2023
I wanted to like this more than I do. I wasn't sure how enthralled I'd be with business challenges, and I'm enjoying that aspect more than expected. The low point for me is that the contestants are already very successful. Even if eliminated, they all go back to an already thriving business. It's on par with how Hell's Kitchen already has seasoned chef - however professional chefs don't have excessive money and the prize would be life changing. I admit that I don't know the exact financials of the Food Stars contestants, but the way they've been presented is that they are all doing quite well. I would much prefer to see this type of show with business people who have a solid idea, but don't yet have their foot in the door.

Caroline makes the show unbearable
brumeram2114 July 2023
Honestly this show had potential. The main idea behind the show is excellent but the casting of the competitors is awful. It's forced, fake, and just horrible. I keep watching in hopes that the really cringe competitors leave the show, to see if it can improve but it just gets worse. It feels like a roller coaster of chaos that just never ends. Gordon has amazing excellent shows but this one really missed the mark due to the casting. Like I said it had great potential but fell off within the first episode. I will not be shocked if there will never be another season. Don't waste your time watching unless you enjoy being annoyed.

Lame and boring.
Top_Dawg_Critic21 June 2023
This show is so annoying and most of the competitors are cringe. It's like Gordon Ramsay handpicked a bunch of loud, annoying and obnoxious individuals to be on this show, which is pretty much fixed on who goes home based on Gordon Ramsay's like or dislike of that person, with hardly any bearing of what that individual did or didn't do for each challenge. Yet another money grab attempt by Ramsay who could've just as easily partnered up with MasterChef winners that can cook, and clearly run a restaurant that has great food, because that chef won the season. The entire concept of this show is ridiculous and redundant. Can't see this nonsense being renewed for another season.

Megen's Friendly Feud with the Troublesome Trio
COWBOY9523 June 2023
So I just created my IMDB account to express my support for Megan. I want to echo Top Dawg Critic's sentiments about disruptive individuals. Caroline, Sydney, and stubborn Queen can be quite irritating. Queen showed promise but was unwilling to take feedback. Watching them from an audience standpoint is uncomfortable.

Caroline's attitude reminds me of a quote from South Park Season 8, Episode 12 - worth a watch.

Anyways as a cooking enthusiast who respects great chefs like Ramsey, I'm apprehensive about him choosing a winner who may not value his guidance and investment. It's a show to watch!

Ramsay needs to poor it up a bit. Nobody cares about wine boxes and 30 dollar beach food, man... it is so disappointingly out of touch with the regular human. All about the flashy, richy locales and already-done food challenges that cater to losers with money. He seems to be concerned more with production values and imagery than with the actual modern food scene. Make a show about street food, about farm to table. Encourage your contestants to make the best hole-in-the-wall restaurant with honestly delicious and affordable food rather than fine dining BS that nobody actually likes. The BEST food is made and enjoyed by down to earth, humble folks; if Ramsay were to even ATTEMPT making a show that included and respected this population, he wouldn't be struggling with viewership.

Another great Ramsay show!
DragonFireBreather2 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Hells Kitchen, Master Chef, Kitchen Nightmares, Uncharted, Next Level Chef and now Food Stars?!? Gordon Ramsey has that golden touch, because this show is really good. It's a show out of the box for Ramsay and it works.

The show is about some potential up and coming business people who are building their own brands. In the end Gordon will pick one as a winner and invest his own money in their company. It's a big get for these guys. They compete in teams to see who does better and who brings in the most money in the competitions. Someone from the listing team gets sent home. The different strong personalities are sure to clash and they already have in the first episode.

Overall... I love the show. Gordon Ramsay has done it again.

Bizarre
Wes541 July 2023
Gordon is playing Sugar Daddy ... er, co-investor, to one (and only one) Instagram Influencer ... entrepreneur.

The problems: 1) None of the Contentants are capable of completing ANY of the challenges.

2) None of the challenges have anything to do with the ANY of the Contestants' businesses.

3) Gordon seems to be using these Instagram Influencers to flex on how great he is.

4) None of the Contestants can work together as a team.

5) After watching five episodes, I doubt that any of the Contestants have ever even SEEN a kitchen, let alone run their own business. Or have worked a day in their whole life. Or have ever heard the word no.

Food Stars? Hardly. More like Rich Showoff and Fifteen Spoiled Kids.

Horrible and cheap drama, a rare GR failure.
trprt7713 July 2023
I don't know what show the poster who gave this train wreck a 10/10 rating saw, but it could not be this show.

Take a bunch of self centered, unlikeable people, with extremely limited cooking chops, and throw in constant manufactured drama, and this is the result. This show, if it had any scruples, would just quit mid season and tell these drama queens to go back to their social media lives, as they have shown they cannot function among other people outside their bubble.

Gordon has made many good and entertaining shows. Sadly, this is not one of them. If he actually follows through on his promise to give one of these losers $250k, he should be assigned someone to oversee his finances.

This is just The Apprentice...but awful!
uclider17 August 2023
Look, you know the Gordon Ramsay style by now...let's see what he can do with The Apprentice...but it's "different"...somehow.

The hodge podge of contestants is bad enough, clearly brought in for their rage inducing qualities and maybe vague relatable personal appeal? Though that gets threadbare when the group is split up into teams and given ridiculous challenges neither utilize whatever skill set these contestants have or feel like they reflect anything applicable to running a business. We're still trying to pretend, in the current year, that you can manufacture something viral...and that it's level of virality can then be judged? The complete boomer understanding of something like the TikTok challenge is a pretty good encapsulation of this shows ability to reach to a novel concept, but ruin it in execution.

The show needs to be retooled and really lean into the fact that it's a shameless The Apprentice knockoff. Let's continue to act as though Ramsay is a God King with increasingly crazier stunts, but add a couple of advisors...maybe a crusty old restaurantuer and one of Ramsay's fail children...to at least provide a venier of "youth understanding of the worlds ways".

The biggest problem of season one is that a lot of strong contestants stood up early to be team leaders and then were summarily destroyed by their lesser teammates. This happened so much that by the end of the show you clearly have a winner...and a bunch of talentless chaff hanging about. The Apprentice got like that at times, but usually the producers would milk the drama llamas JUST enough...then let them go. Not Gordon Ramsay's Food Stars... apparently Caroline's dad is his golf buddy or something because inextricably she has somehow survived the ENTIRE SEASON...having (to my anexdotal remembering) not once led any team challenge and predominantly being the cause of her teams demise in challenges. When the contestants gameplay is so blaringly obvious (do poorly in challenge, immediately find someone to throw under the bus during hot seat segments) to the viewer, who is watching an edited version of the events, it leads to a very boring watch. At least Ramsay keeps The Apprentice vibe in check, seemingly not worrying himself with contestants previous challenges success and continuing to float turds to the next round.

Lame! No new episodes in a month. Cancelled?
bhcapital8 July 2023
A takeoff of the Apprentice with a terrible cast. It seems to have ended after 5 episodes as there hasnt been a new episode in about a month. I like Gordon Ramsey but this is brutal.

He seems to have eliminated some of the better competitors who were willing to stick their neck out and lead. Now he has a bunch of followers.

Half of them are in way over their heads ( think snow cone boy) and look flustered most of the time. Others believe they are helpful, like the girl who refused to fish but thought she could teach others.

The only reason i continue to watch is i like ramsey. Clearly none of these people could compete on master chef or hells kitchen.

Gordon, stick to those and Uncharted.

Worst Gordon Show
dannyrevolution20 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
It's clear this was just about marketing and sales. I get that. What I don't get is how Caroline D'Amore made it so far. She threw everyone under the bus the moment she didn't like it her way. I don't understand why no one made it a point how toxic she was. And it wasn't a bad edit. Her sauce isn't made at home. She pays a processing plant. Go back to Malibu, Caroline D'Amore. I will never buy your sad sauce or your sad frozen pizzas. It should've been Fat Miilk. Fat Miilk was all about culture and sustainability with coffee, but no. I will not be watching anymore Gordon shows after this. It was sad.
