In what appears to be an idyllic society where technology and knowledge sharing are tightly controlled, and genetically designed humans called s-humans augment the workforce, an authoritarian government reigns supreme. Yu, a young singer recovering from the recent loss of the only two things she loves, her band and her girlfriend, embarks on a new career as an art curator. When her cynical boss gives her a comic about a supposedly mythical s-human called Ikkyu and tells her to gather more artefacts about Ikkyu for an exhibition, Yu inadvertently gets caught up in a dangerous web of intrigue involving government agents, anarchists, a secret society, and a fanatical cult.
