- Renee Clark: [while testifying for the grand jury] I was raped on their campus, not believed by security and advised to forget it by their counselor. And when I got depressed, they said I was crazy, and they had me committed. Please don't let them get away with what they've done to me.
- Amanda Rollins: [while reviewing the case] Lindsay Bennett, freshman. She's home-schooled from upstate, a virgin. She's hazed by her sorority, she drinks too much and she's gang-raped by three Tau Omega brothers.
- Captain Donald Cragen: That frat again. Anybody at the party confirm her story?
- Detective Olivia Benson: Yeah, her sorority sisters admit that she was assigned to get a photo of Travis' package and they're slut-shaming her for anything else that happened.
- Captain Donald Cragen: Great. Mean girls.
- Detective Olivia Benson: If anyone here has been sexually assaulted, or know anyone that has, it's never too late to come forward. Denying the pain doesn't make it go away.
- Amanda Rollins: [to Lindsay] You sent a topless photo of yourself to Travis?
- Lindsay Bennett: He... he asked me to, he texted me, he... he said he wanted to hook up again! It was stupid. I thought... I thought maybe he still liked me. The photo was supposed to disappear after seven seconds.
- Amanda Rollins: Nothing ever disappears from the Internet ever.
- Amanda Rollins: [after the detectives discover that Lindsay committed suicide] I just talked to her yesterday.
- Detective Olivia Benson: This isn't your fault, Amanda. You did everything you could. Come on.
- Amanda Rollins: No, no. She was pink clouding and I knew it.
- [walks away upset]
- Detective Olivia Benson: It's all about control. I mean, they do their own investigations. If the school decides no crime has been committed, it's dropped. No press, no police.
- A.D.A. Rafael Barba: We need to go after the school.
- Detective Odafin 'Fin' Tutuola: And charge 'em with what?
- A.D.A. Rafael Barba: That's the great part about being a D.A. I don't have to decide that right now.
- Detective Olivia Benson: What about these frat boys?
- A.D.A. Rafael Barba: The first rule of bureaucracy is self-preservation. Those boys become a liability, they will cut them loose.
- Detective Olivia Benson: In my experience, a survivor can heal much more quickly if they're listened to.
- Renee Clark: [When Olivia and Amanda go speak with Renee Clark] The police need to pretend they care?
- Detective Olivia Benson: Look, we know that you've been through a lot.
- Renee Clark: You have no idea.
- Detective Olivia Benson: Well, then, tell us.
- Renee Clark: I told the story a dozen times and no one believed me until I ended up here.
- Detective Olivia Benson: I'm sorry that it took so long for us to find you, and I know how hard it is to talk about again, but if you give us a chance, I promise you, Renee, it'll be different this time.
- Renee Clark: No, the only thing that's gonna make it different is frying my brain until I can't remember any of it.
- Detective Olivia Benson: The boy who assaulted you, Travis, we think he's the one who assaulted the student.
- Renee Clark: You know what I'd tell her? To shut up about Travis or they'll go after her.
- Amanda Rollins: The fraternity?
- Renee Clark: Them and the school. When I filed charges, Dean Meyerson tried to make it out to be my fault. And when I posted online about what a sham their investigation was, I got a letter saying that they'd charge me with a violation of the TSU honor code. That I was intimidating my rapist! That place... nothing's gonna change them.
- Dean Meyerson: [after she is shown a video of Lindsay's rapists admitting to assaulting her] I had no idea about any of this. If I had, I would've taken action.
- Counselor Melissa Braxton: Dean Meyerson, please.
- Amanda Rollins: You took plenty of action that led to this. Not shutting down these frats, hiding reports.
- Amanda Rollins: I'm so sorry, Mrs. Bennett.
- Eileen Bennett: Lindsay... she wouldn't talk about it. Told me to go home. I wanted to give her space.
- Amanda Rollins: I talked to Lindsay the day before. You know, she was so... I should have known.
- Eileen Bennett: No. It's the boys, the school. They killed my baby. I home-schooled her her whole life. I was always afraid to let her go.
- Detective Olivia Benson: [to Renee] You sure you want to be here?
- Renee Clark: I want to pay my respects. The school said they'd let me come back. They accepted your offer to supervise me.
- Detective Olivia Benson: I'm very happy to hear that.
- Renee Clark: You know, I was thinking about maybe starting a kind of support group on campus. So, you know, survivors know that they're not alone. You think that's a good idea?
- Renee Clark: Yeah, I do.
- Leo Barth: [to Fin and Rollins] Hi, I'm Leo Barth. Campus Security director. How can I help you?
- Amanda Rollins: We're here to speak with Lindsay Bennett.
- Leo Barth: I'll save you the paperwork. It's Hell Week for the frats. She was drunk, walking on the roof ledge. Good Samaritan grabbed her, but she's fine now.
- Detective Odafin 'Fin' Tutuola: Well, we got the call, so we have to follow up.
- Leo Barth: Now? She's still pretty stoonad.
- Lindsay Bennett: I'm sorry. I made a mistake. I can't do this. What happened last night, I wanted it.
- Amanda Rollins: You wanted to lose your virginity to three boys at once who laughed at you, who hurt you?
- Lindsay Bennett: [to Rollins] I'm not mad at Alyson for sending me in there. It's not her fault.
- Amanda Rollins: Well, if you and she testified, Lindsay...
- Lindsay Bennett: To what? I've decided it never happened. I've let it go.
- Amanda Rollins: Sweetheart, that's... that's not gonna work. Okay, have you talked to someone? A therapist...
- Lindsay Bennett: Why? I'm all better now, okay?
- Amanda Rollins: Okay. Um, if you need anything, you call...
- Lindsay Bennett: I should go. Good-bye, Detective Rollins.
- [leaves]
- Leo Barth: These kids away from home for the first time, they're all out of control. I should turn in a guy every time a girl puts out and doesn't get flowers the next day?
- Amanda Rollins: Excuse me?
- Leo Barth: Listen, I'm just trying to keep these kids alive, all right? Make sure they don't drink and drive or OD or get knifed. I can't police their bedrooms.
- A.D.A. Rafael Barba: Find the others.
- Captain Donald Cragen: That's easy for you to say.
- A.D.A. Rafael Barba: What's the matter? NYPD run out Trojan horses?
- Renee Clark: I've decided to stop the ECT. Just being believed, I feel so much better. I want to go back to school.
- Detective Olivia Benson: School. Back to Tompkins Square?
- Renee Clark: I don't want them to win.
