It only became apparent during the Covid years that a sub-set of the homeless population were completely unsupported and highly unlikely to ever get off the streets.
This compelling documentary opened my eyes via the stories of Joe, Eddie, Bams and Mags to the struggles of non-resident homelessness. Whilst these people may not be Australian citizens, they live amongst us regardless and with only a small amount of assistance, particularly via government policy could stand up on their own two feet.
The stars of the show are amazing real as is the director of the Wayside Chapel who has some home truths for all of us.
It is sometimes uncomfortable to watch and hear how others who struggle in society live but it is a massive wake up call that we could all do a little more and largely end homelessness entirely.
