This Star Wars: Ahsoka article contains spoilers.
Ahsoka‘s midseason episode, “Shadow Warrior,” was billed as such a big event by Disney that it even played in select theaters on premiere night. And it’s for good reason: the fifth episode of the live-action series doesn’t only see the return of Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker but also sends Ahsoka traveling through time and space to her years as a young padawan during The Clone Wars. That means we not only get to see two battles from the animated series but also a younger Ahsoka in the flesh as we’ve never seen her in live action.
Of course, star Rosario Dawson couldn’t play young Ahsoka herself on the show, lest Disney take us further into the uncanny valley of its questionable CG de-aging tech. Instead, Clone Wars era Ahsoka is played by 16-year-old Ariana Greenblatt, who you...

Dove Cameron is in the midst of a very fruitful moment in her career - though she has been in one for a while, and she doesn't seem to be slowing down. She's currently starring in the musical parody "Schmigadoon!" and she also has a successful music career, with a full-length album set to drop sometime in 2023. She also frequently gives fans beauty moments to admire, from her growing collection of tiny tattoos to a multitude of dramatic hair changes.
Over the years, she's been open about her personal life as well. She came out as queer in 2020, sharing that she's "super queer" and that her sexuality is "something I want to represent through my music because it's who I am" in an Instagram Live. Since then, she's continued to voice support for the queer community while featuring queer relationships in her videos and performances.

From Disney darling to pop star, Dove Cameron's career has undergone quite the evolution since she began acting in her early teens. The versatile actor's earliest fans grew up alongside her as she played identical twins "Liv and Maddie" for four seasons on the hit Disney Channel show. But Cameron's professional acting career began even earlier, when she memorably guest-starred in two episodes of "Shameless" as Holly Herkimer, a young woman who was interested in Lip Gallagher (Jeremy Allen White).
Cameron's early work in "Shameless" and "Liv and Maddie" showed off the actor's range. Right from the start of her career, it was clear she could pull off comedic and dramatic roles, just as she could pivot between family-friendly fare and more daring projects. In recent years, she's continued to challenge herself as an actor with roles in B.J. Novak's directorial debut, "Vengeance" and Hulu's comedic...

Dove Cameron has confirmed she was in the running to star in Jon M. Chu’s upcoming movie musical adaptation of “Wicked” — a dream casting that was speculated for years before the role of Glinda ultimately went to Ariana Grande.
“I definitely went out for it,” Cameron revealed to TheWrap, speaking on the press line at a “Schmigadoon!” Season 2 FYC event in North Hollywood. “I know that for everybody who did go out for it, it was a very long process. It was one of the longer processes I’ve been a part of.”
The confirmation that Cameron was in the mix with eventual stars Grande and Cynthia Erivo comes after a long-lasting, feverish push online from fans to get Cameron to star as one of her dream roles, Glinda.

Dove Cameron first rose to fame for her work playing the title roles on the Disney Channel’s “Liv and Maddie” followed by her starring role in the “Descendants” franchise.
Now 27, she returns for the second season of “Schmigadoon!” as Jenny Banks, a character based on Sally Bowles from “Cabaret.” The sophomore season of the Apple series, titled “Schmicago!,” is inspired by Broadway musicals of the 1960 and ‘70s.
“It was transformative, an education awakening for so many of us,” Cameron says of the legacy of “Cabaret” on this week’s episode of the “Just for Variety” podcast. “Especially, I’m sure you can relate, but growing up as a queer person and seeing queer representation in an environment that was also so sexually liberated — those two things coupled together were really healing and necessary to see growing up for me to become the person that I am. Are you ready to meet the dastardly denizens of Schmicago?
Schmigadoon! Season 2 takes us to a dark, seedy city inspired by the musicals of the 1960s and 70s.
Dove Cameron is already an icon in her own right, famous for her role in Disney's Descendents, Liv and Maddie, and a thriving pop music career.
In Schmigadoon! Season 1, she played the simple farmer's daughter Betsy. For Season 2, she is Jenny Banks, a role chiefly inspired by Kander and Ebb's anti-heroine Sally Bowles (made famous by Liza Minnelli in 1972's Cabaret).
Aaron Tveit is the Tony-winning star of Broadway's Moulin Rouge! and the big-screen movie adaptation of the mega-musical Les Misérables.
After playing Danny Bailey in Season 1, he's back as a rockin' leading man who is equal parts Jesus, Pippin, and Berger from Hair.
We caught up with Cameron and Tveit at a recent press junket to talk about their experiences filming...

Most reasonable people view the tale of Anne Frank, the young Jewish woman who died at the Nazis’ Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in 1945, as a a tragic story of a young, vibrant woman with unlimited talent and potential, whose life was woefully cut short by forces of evil. But the internet is not a reasonable place. It’s a place where Satanic conspiracy theories about furniture brands thrive, where people freak out over candy not being sexy, and where historical horrors are imbued with the sentiment and pathos of an MCR fan’s 2008 LiveJournal entries.

Dove Cameron looked amazing while wearing an all-black outfit.
The Boyfriend singer recently switched her blonde hair to a dark brown, but the change also came about in her music and style.
Now embracing this new “dark” era, Cameron attended the Peter Do Spring 2023 collection at New York Fashion Week.
She wore a skimpy black silk bra with a suit jacket on top that seemed to have an attached trail of black sheer fabric for a more dramatic look.
Her pants were cut in a very chic and loose way, adorned with a silver belt.
Cameron didn’t accessorize much, she only carried a small shoulder bag and cat eye sunglasses.

One of the year’s biggest breakouts in music has been Dove Cameron. While she was a known figure on the Disney Channel in the mid-to-late 2010s, Cameron’s musical breakout truly came this year, with the success of her viral hit “Boyfriend.” The song managed to peak in the top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100 and reached number-two on the Mainstream Top 40 airplay chart, a very impressive feat for the newcomer. Cameron’s year got even better when she won the MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist, besting big names like Maneskin and Latto. Is she headed for the same success at the Grammys?

Dove’s biggest advantage in the Grammy race is her general musical profile. Not only is she a pop artist, which historically is a big advantage in the general field categories, but her sound is a more serious brand of pop.

Dove Cameron may have been a part of the Disney circle of stars, but it doesn't mean she didn't feel like an outlier. Although she shot to superstardom thanks to her roles on Liv & Maddie and the Descendants, the 26-year-old doesn't feel like she relates to her fellow House of Mouse stars. "I never had that moment where I was like, 'I am a Disney girl,'" Dove recently told the Los Angeles Times. "I never looked at Miley [Cyrus] or Demi [Lovato] or Selena [Gomez] or Zendaya or Bella [Thorne] or anybody—Hilary Duff or anybody that came before me—I never looked at them and thought, you and me—same." “Plan B” is a girls-behaving-badly all-night-long road-trip comedy that’s The film made me realize that almost every time a movie like this one comes along that has young women at the center of it, it’s been an independent film. In the randy teens + binge party = escalating trainwreck genre of high delinquent comedy, that’s a crucial distinction, because it means that the films bypass a certain mainstream blandification. “Plan B” will be released May 28 on Hulu, and it’s clear that the relevant executive note-givers did not see fit to demand that the movie lose certain jokes outrageous enough to hit viewers like a comic shock wave.
Whereas a comedy like “Superbad,” great as it is, was able to draw on films ranging from “American Graffiti” to “License to Drive,” “Plan B” has a vastly shorter pedigree, one that stretches back to maybe “Bachelorette” (2012), a scabrously anti-romantic comedy...

The CW has found its three leads for its upcoming live-action reboot of “The Powerpuff Girls.”
From Warner Bros. Television, the new version of the beloved Cartoon Network series created by Craig McCracken follows heroines Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup as “disillusioned twentysomethings who resent having lost their childhood to crime-fighting. Will they agree to reunite now that the world needs them more than ever?”
Chloe Bennet will play Blossom, Dove Cameron is Bubbles and Yana Perrault is Buttercup. Blossom is described as “a spunky, conscientious, Little-Miss-Perfect child who holds several advanced degrees. Blossom’s repressed kiddie-superhero trauma has left her feeling anxious and reclusive, and she aims to become a leader again — this time on her own terms.”

The live-action “Powerpuff Girls” pilot at The CW has found its three leads, with Chloe Bennet, Dove Cameron, and Yana Perrault all joining the show.

Will they agree to reunite now that the world needs them more than ever?
Bennet has been cast as Blossom, Cameron has been cast as Bubbles, and Perrault has been cast as Buttercup. The pilot reunites Bennet and Camerson, though this time they will play allies instead of enemies. Both previously appeared in the ABC-Marvel series “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D,” in which Bennet’s character and Cameron’s fought against each other.

When I think about some of the family films that peppered my childhood, there are many that still make the cut for decent, fun entertainment. Unfortunately for my daughter and nephews, “Playing with Fire” won’t be one of those fond movie memories they will want to share with their own kids someday.
The film is bland and predictable, underestimates kids’ abilities to understand story and humor, and relies way too much on sight gags that are clichéd and overdone.
Fire Station Superintendent Jake Carson (John Cena), “Supe” to his crew, loves his job. As a smoke jumper, he leads Mark (Keegan Michael-Key), Rodrigo (John Leguizamo) and Axe as they parachute into wildfires, saving lives and homes throughout a more woodsy area of California. When Supe airlifts Brynn, Will and Zoey (Finley Rose Slater) from a blazing cabin fire, the incoming weather and inability to hand them off to a...

Before she landed a series regular role on the Neflix coming-of-age drama “On My Block,” actress Jessica Marie Garcia said that she spent three years on another series where she was described as an “expensive extra.”
Speaking with other actresses on a panel about building confidence at TheWrap’s Be Conference in Santa Monica on Thursday, Garcia said she sometimes struggled to move beyond the supporting roles that have defined her career so far, like her 35-episode stint on Disney Channel’s “Liv and Maddie.”
“I want to be more than someone’s friend every time,” she said, noting that it wasn’t until season 2 of “On My Block” that her character, Jasmine Flores, became a series regular.

The sequel to Netflix’s “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” has made some significant changes behind the scenes from the first movie, but switching out one of Lara Jean’s love interests has caused quite an uproar. Talented actor, dancer, and singer Jordan Fisher has been cast as the charming John Ambrose, a move that has created mixed feelings for fans.
In the first film, Lara Jean Covey’s (Lana Condor) childhood love letters that she had no intention of mailing get leaked to her five crushes during her junior year in high school. She eventually ends up dating one of the boys, Peter Kavinsky (Noah Centineo), but during the end credits, John Ambrose (Jordan Burtchett) shows up on her doorstep with one of the incriminating letters.
Fisher’s casting is a surprise for fans who had expected Burtchett to reprise his role as John Ambrose, a potential rival for Peter.

Fresh off the success of Spike Lee’s “She’s Gotta Have It,” Netflix is delivering another city-set comedy, this time aimed at younger audiences. “On My Block” follows four teenage friends as they embark on their first year of high school in South Central Los Angeles. The newly released trailer promises a jam-packed soundtrack, quick paced storytelling, and adorable fresh-faced talent.
The trailer opens with a well-meaning older brother doling out advice to his young charges: “You need to stick together to survive.” Of course, as romance, glory, and temptation get in the way, the question becomes: “What happened with sticking together?”
