I don’t know about you, but I am in no way ready to move on from Doctor Who: The Day of the Doctor, my new favorite Doctor Who episode ever. As I watch the fan favorite Eleventh Doctor episodes that BBC America is airing today, and look forward to Doctor Who: The Doctors Revisited, The Eleventh Doctor, I dread tomorrow’s lack of Who. Oh wait, I almost forgot – I’m going to the 3D version tomorrow night! Allons-y!

We made it! We made it to the 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who! More important, we made it through the worldwide commercial-free simulcast of Doctor Who: The Day of the Doctors. I never thought anything would top “Blink” as my favorite episode, until I saw “The Doctor’s Wife”. With apologies to Neil Gaiman, who wrote that episode, The Day of the Doctors is now firmly in the top spot.
I think Mr. Gaman will understand:
Yeah, I cried. Twice. Beautiful.
— Neil Gaiman (@neilhimself) November 23, 2013
Now don’t worry, what we’re about to show you isn’t really very spoilery, if you haven’t seen the episode (I’m sorry, I hope the life-threatening emergency has now been contained), so feel free to enjoy.
If you were following BBC One’s tweets during the simulcast, you saw these beautifully captioned screenshots. I’ve saved them all for you,...

Rule One: The Moffat Lies.
Rule One-a: So Does The McGann.
After nearly a year of what showrunner Steven Moffat described as “lying through my teeth”, the prequel to the Doctor Who anniversary episode “The Day of the Doctor” reveals that the one fact that upset people the most is the one that was the biggest lie.
Watch, and squee with me.
Ok, so technically, Paul McGann isn’t in the Anniversary episode proper, so his year-long claim that he wasn’t asked to take part wasn’t quite a lie, but it’s close enough.
And it was released on his birthday, which is just a case of the universe rolling the right way on occasion.
The Sisterhood of Karn made their first appearance in the Tom Baker adventure The Brain of Morbius. The Sisterhood have had a long history with the Time Lords, as described in numerous prose and audio adventures.

With just two weeks before it’s airing, the BBC has finally released an extended trailer for Day of The Doctor, the 50th Anniversary episode of Doctor Who.
The plot: “The Doctors embark on their greatest adventure in this 50th anniversary special. In 2013, something terrible is awakening in London’s National Gallery; in 1562, a murderous plot is afoot in Elizabethan England; and somewhere in space an ancient battle reaches its devastating conclusion. All of reality is at stake as the Doctor’s own dangerous past comes back to haunt him.”
While this story line seems everyday, the trailer reveals that for the first time since the series returned in 2005 we’ll get a (detailed?) look at the Time War that cost the life of Gallifrey and the Doctor’s people. It will also explore how John Hurt’s Doctor figures within the personal timeline of the Doctor as well. David Tennant...

The month of October is halfway gone and it’s time for our monthly dose of Doctor Who: Doctors Revisited. This month focuses on the amazing tenth Doctor, David Tennant. One of the most beloved Doctors of them all.
Chances are, new fan or classic guru, you’re familiar with David Tennant and his incarnation of the tenth Doctor. He took the foundation that Christopher Eccleston laid out in the reboot and made fans fall in love with the Doctor. I remember so many boohoos and moans and groans when David Tennant moved on. He was amazing and loveable. But all Doctors must eventually fall to a regeneration.

David Tennant has paid tribute to late Doctor Who star Patrick Troughton in a new documentary about the sci-fi series on Watch:
Watch David Tennant on Doctor Who: The Doctors Revisited:
Tennant claims that he "wouldn't be sat here" without Troughton's work on the BBC show, arguing that the second Doctor "gave the show a way to keep going".
"Patrick Troughton created the Doctor as he is now," says Tennant.
Doctor Who: The Doctors Revisited, which features interviews with John Barrowman, Steven Moffat, Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy, starts at 2pm on Saturday (October 12) on Watch.

In this eighth month of Doctor Who: The Doctors Revisited we take a look at eighth Doctor, Paul McGann, who was a part of an American attempt by Fox to reboot the series in 1996 via TV movie. Keep in mind that the Doctor hadn’t graced the screens of our televisions since 1989 and wouldn’t do so again until 2005.
It starts with the regeneration of the seventh Doctor (Sylvester McCoy) and is self-contained, without a major cliffhanger.

Doctor Who: The Doctors Revisited – The Eighth Doctor premiers on Saturday August 31st at 8/7 on BBC America followed by the classic Paul McGann TV movie Doctor Who: The TV Movie.

The seventh Doctor was played by Sylvester McCoy and most newer fans probably know him better than the rest because he’s made a few guest appearances with the modern Doctors. He was known for keeping an umbrella with him that carried the red question mark handle, and the most memorable companion was Ace (Sophie Aldred) the punk. It was always great to see her struggle with period frocks. Here’s the TV spot for Doctor Who: The Doctors Revisited – The Seventh Doctor.

Tomb of Cybermen
Kieran Kinsella
BBC America’s July 16 release of Doctor Who: The Doctors Revisited 1-4 is dollar for dollar the best DVD set released to date. It features Tomb of Cybermen, Spearhead from Space, and Pyramids of Mars — all of which arguably rank among the top 10 Doctor Who stories ever broadcast. It also contains The Aztecs, a decent enough William Hartnell story that doesn’t quite rise to the level of the other stories in the collection. All in all, you get 16 episodes, 456 minutes of action and it is available at just $39.98
The stories in question recently aired on BBC America as part of the network’s celebration of the show’s upcoming 50th anniversary. The show’s current producer, Steven Moffat provided a commentary which is included in this set. Each story is shown in both its original format and the widescreen feature-length version that aired on BBC America.

Colin Baker, the 6th Doctor, does fall into my bottom 3 in Doctor ranking of Doctor Who Doctors But he is the only Doctor that I’ve had the good fortune to meet and get an autograph from. I was probably 7. He was very sweet and he said he liked my name so much he wanted to trade. This is the Doctor you could spot from a mile away in his patchwork coat. Tune in for his episode on Doctor Who: Doctors Revisited. Here’s the TV spot.

Everyone has their first Doctor, and Tom Baker is mine. Doctor Who: Doctors Revisited is back for our monthly celebration of each Doctor and it’s time for the 4th Doctor’s special. Most often seen in a striped scarf long enough to wrap once or twice around his head still touching the floor and toting a crumpled paper bag of “jelly babies” to share, this doctor brought a great deal of humor to the role.
He traveled with classic companions, such as Sarah Jane Smith, K-9, Leela, Adric and even another Time Lord, Romanadvoratrelundar or Romana for short.

It’s time for another installment of Doctor Who: Doctors Revisited! Velvet smoking jackets and frilly shirts were donned by the 3rd Doctor (Jon Pertwee) who spent most of his time exiled on Earth by the Time Lords. He was often seen with a yellow car named Bessie and was proficient at hand to hand combat. This, ladies and gentlemen, is the man responsible for uttering, “reverse the polarity of the neutron flow.”

February has passed its halfway point and that means it’s time to continue your further education of classic Doctor Who. Last month we reported the showing of the First Doctor’s Special and this month we celebrate the second installment of Doctor Who: The Doctors Revisited with The Second Doctor as played by Patrick Troughton.
This was a pretty revolutionary move, to get an audience to accept that there would be a completely different person carrying on a character. It was a big risk for the show but it carried William Hartnell’s personal blessing.
Following the episode will be Patrick Troughton in Tomb of the Cybermen, featuring a very different version of the cybermen than you are used to. Here’s the TV Spot.
