If Larry Cohen lived in Copenhagen, he might have written The Guilty. Veteran filmmaker Cohen, of course, has written dozens of screenplays that start with a clever idea and then expound on it with a wicked, pulp sense of humor and drama. Two good examples that spring immediately to mind are Phone Booth and Cellular, which both revolve around a phone call forcing the recipient into a suspenseful course of action by the caller. Putting that aside, however, director Gustav Möller says that a real-life incident inspired him to make The Guilty (original title: Den skyldige), which follows what happens when an emergency response operator receives a call from a woman who's apparently been kidnapped. Written by Möller and Emil Nygaard Albertsen, the screenplay takes...

While there are plenty of single location movies, the great ones make you forget that you’re just in one place. Gustav Möller‘s “The Guilty,” which makes its World Premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, aims to keep you on the edge of your seat, and make you forget that its ingenious concept involves nothing more than a dispatcher trying to solve a twisty mystery.
Starring Jakob Cedergren, Jessica Dinnage, Johan Olsen, and Omar Shargawi, the film follows police officer Asger Holm, who is demoted to desk work, and expects a sleepy beat as an emergency dispatcher.

Just pretend post-first world war Birmingham is the wild west ...
Women, children and animals rush inside off the muddy street and bolt their doors as a man with pale blue eyes rides his horse into town to a Nick Cave soundtrack. High Noon meets Quentin Tarantino. But where? Dodge City? Tombstone? Not exactly. It's Birmingham.
Almost every other big city in the country has had its time in the spotlight as the location for a big budget TV drama, but Birmingham has always been a place for producers to travel through en route to somewhere else. At least, it has ever since the Crossroads motel closed its doors for good in 2003. Now, 10 years on, Birmingham's time has come again, though it may not be a Birmingham that many people recognise.
