Production has now started on “AlGaid,” the latest feature from fast-rising Saudi Arabian production house Telfaz11, which smashed local box office records with their first two local releases, “Sattar” and “Mandoob.”
Directed by Hussam Alhulwah and shooting in the sprawling production hub of Neom, “AlGaid” unfolds against the backdrop of the early 20th-century Arabia desert and is described as blending the revenge genre with Bedouin soap opera tropes. The film was penned by Saudi novelist and writer Ahmed Alhokail.
Among the newly-announced ensemble cast for the feature is renowned actor Yagoub Alfarhan, recently seen in the Red Sea Film Festival-winning film “Norah” but best known for the mini-series “Rashash.” Joining Alfarhan is Saad Alshatti and Khalid Abdulaziz (“Head to Head”), plus Husam AlHarthi (“The Matchmaker”) Asem Alawad (“Raven Song”), Ayman Mutahar (“Rashash”) and Fahad Bin Salem (“Mandoob”).

This article contains spoilers for The Gilded Age season 2 episode 5.
The Gilded Age has woven the story of Black New Yorkers into the larger fabric of its depiction of 1880’s society. Season 2 expands on this foundation by also showing a slice of what life was like in the South during the same period.
Peggy (Denée Benton) is very eager to cover the most important stories of the day for T. Thomas Fortune’s (Sullivan Jones) newspaper. Covering the Red Cross’s relief work last season has also whet her appetite for traveling beyond the city. During season 2 the opportunity to cover a big and meaningful story presents itself when Booker T. Washington offers Peggy and Fortune the opportunity to cover the opening of a new dormitory at the Tuskegee Institute in Alabama.
The Tuskegee Institute, now called Tuskegee University, was founded in 1881 just two years before the main plot of the series begins.

Two years after co-starring in Netflix‘s hit “Red Notice” with Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds, Gal Gadot is back in the Top 10 charts for the week of August 7 with her action-thriller “Heart of Stone.” Read on for this week’s analysis.
Gadot’s undeniable star power was on full display as “Heart of Stone” only premiered on the streamer this past Friday, and it was able to easily top the English-language list with 33.1 million views worldwide. It was the #1 watched film in most of the Americas (except Canada), Africa, Asia and Europe, and a great start for what should be another Netflix hit. “Red Notice” is famously Netflix’s most-watched movie ever, with 230.9 million global views total, but “Heart of Stone” will give Gadot a good opportunity to show that she doesn’t need the boys to get viewers watching.

It is said that to enjoy some movies, one has to leave their brain at home. This happens to be a common phrase that is often used in order to defend many Bollywood potboilers, which are headlined by fifty-something, steroid-bodied superstars. The storyline of Netflix’s new comedy-thriller Head To Head, from Saudi Arabia, is a hundred times more ludicrous than all those Bollywood movies. Yet you perfectly enjoy it with your brain perfectly attached to your body, as it’s supposed to be.
Five years ago, I wouldn’t have imagined watching a Saudi movie, let alone reviewing it for work. But with the rise of Netflix, every kind of movie from every corner of the world has become accessible to us. Sure, with the streaming giant taking the reins of production, a lot of the movies are being presented to us with a particular Netflix filter on them.

“Head to Head” is a comedy directed by Malik Nejer and written by Abdulaziz Al-Muzaini. It stars Abdulaziz Alshehri, Adel Radwan, Mohammad Alqass, Ida Alkusay and others.
In this highly entertaining comedy set in Saudi Arabia, we are treated to all the elements of Guy Ritchie‘s distinctive style: criminals, corpses, a touch of comic relief, sharp dialogue, and absurd situations.
This Netflix release is a perfect opportunity to get lost in a film that we found incredibly amusing.
Storyline
The film tells the story of a love-struck chauffeur and a mechanic who mistakenly pick up a retired criminal. The two men are forced into a wild, life-changing adventure as they try to survive.
About the movie Head to Head
“Head to Head” is funny, well-scripted, and features striking contrasts in its cinematography. The performances are commendable. If there is any criticism, it would be that the film closely resembles Guy Ritchie’s personal style,...

August has arrived, and with it, the last full month of summer-worthy shows and flicks, at least for 2023. From all the summer sensations to food weather, carnival fun and, of course, the lack of school, the streamer’s film slate will update with some appropriate flicks like “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2,” “Eat Pray Love,” “Despicable Me” and “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” respectively.
If you’re one of those who senses the change in the air as soon as the salty summer heat gives way to crisp fall fog, “Heartstopper” Season 2, complete with its cartoon drawings of leaves, waits for you starting August 3. “The Lincoln Lawyer: Season 2 Part 2” concludes the two-part followup to the legal drama starring Manuel Garcia-Rulfo. “Heart of Stone,” a big tentpole film starring Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan, promises action-lovers a good time.

With its list of new releases for August 2023, Netflix is giving the anime world another shot.
No, we’re not talking about the streamer’s usual anime offerings – which are present this month in the form of Ragnarok season 3 (Aug. 24) and other titles – we’re talking about Netflix’s attempt to make live-action anime adaptations a thing. Following the relative failure of its Cowboy Bebop remake, Netflix is giving it another go, this time with arguably an even bigger anime classic. One Piece will premiere on Aug. 31. Telling the story of beloved straw hat wearing pirate Monkey D. Luffy, this adaptation will attempt to do original creator Eiichiro Oda and his many fans proud.
