This is the fifth time that Award-Winning Director/Producer Sam Borowski has teamed up with cinematographer William Schweikert.
This is the fourth collaboration between Award-Winning Director/Producer Sam Borowski and actor Bill Sorvino.
Bill Sorvino is the nephew of Paul Sorvino and cousin of Academy-Award Winner Mira Sorvino.
The film is in small part an homage to Taxi Driver, one of the Director's favorite films, and the poster is a almost a mock-up of the 1976 Taxi Driver one-sheet.
Maniac is filled with plenty of iconic homages to the 70s such as the look of the film. In fact, Borowski and Schweikert filmed the movie with an old 70s style photographic lens over the Red Epic to give it a more 70s feel. In addition, to this and the old 70s style poster, iconic 70s actor David Harris, who played Cochise in The Warriors was cast in a featured role.
