Arcade is said to be a mutant with the ability to control technology with his mind. The comic book version of Arcade, however, is a normal human being without any superhuman powers.
Arcade's goals in this episode include starting World War III. This is quite different from his comic book counterpart where he is just an assassin for hire who uses elaborate deathtrap games to murder his targets. Arcade is actually a third string villain whom, due to his many failures, is not taken seriously by other assassins, let alone by the greater super villain community.
Arcade's variety of death traps are collectively known as "Murderworld" in the Marvel Comics. This is probably meant as a reference to Disney World as most depictions of Arcade's deathtraps took the form of amusement parks or amusement-oriented items such as giant pinball machines. In this episode, Arcade's deadly lair is called "Madland", probably to avoid using the term "murder" in a children's cartoon.
