An inspirational film that just might change your attitude
joannevw31 October 2014
Go Far: The Christopher Rush Story is a beautiful film. It is both the documentary of an extraordinary person, and a reminder to all of us that everyone has a story. Getting to know the person behind the story may be more challenging when a disability is present, but the effort can be life-changing. Christopher touched people's lives as they quickly learned to look past his disability and see the compassionate, funny, intelligent person he was. He developed a system of principles to help him achieve his goals, which is explained in the film.

What I took away from the film are these reminders: Everyone has a story, and all of those stories are worth discovering; don't let anyone's disability distract you from learning to know the person; most of us are far more blessed than we care to admit or be thankful for every day; and the GO FAR principles can be implemented by any of us, no matter what obstacles we face.

While watching Burn Notice, I quickly learned that my favorite episodes had been edited by Zack Arnold. In GO FAR: The Christopher Rush Story, Zack delivers a wonderful movie about an inspirational young man, the parents and family who helped him believe in himself, friends whose lives were changed by their relationship with Christopher, and the method he used to accomplish amazing goals. I recommend this inspirational film to everyone of any age.

Christopher Rush was and is an amazing inspiration.

Thank you Zack Arnold for making this film.

You will inspire millions of people with Chris' message - from young to old, those with and without disabilities. Many people helped to make this film a reality, including myself. This film was completely funded by the donations of others who believed in the message. Every time I watch this film I tear up. In fact, anyone who watches this film should be ready with a tissue. It's not sad. On the contrary. It's heartwarming, motivational, inspirational, empowering, and full of emotion.

By watching Chris live his life to the fullest, despite his obstacles, you will be inspired to do the same. It's a great life lesson.

life changing

I Absolutely love this story and believe it's a must watch for everyone! The message is simply, don't give up. Don't let anyone tell you you can't/won't be an able to do something. And to not believe all these people. Even if you do have limitations, you do what you can. As long as you never give up, you will go far and Christopher did just that.

It's so incredible how Christopher was able to do so much. I see so many people in wheelchairs who seem so depressed. And here was Christopher living the life of his dreams. And that's how you're suppose to live your life.

Encouraging for all

This is a terrific film about the life of Christopher Rush. What a heart. What a champion. What an inspiration. Watching this will change your perspective on life, on people with disabilities, on reaching your goals. This is a well-done and very moving documentary.

Zach Arnold got some great clips of old Muscular Dystrophy telethons from both the local Michigan stations and the national broadcasts that really show Christopher Rush's engaging personality. He also did some great interviews with friends, family and even Tony Orlando showing the love everyone had for Christopher.

Christopher Rush had a contagious love for life and the people living it. He made a friend out of everyone he met. I'm glad I now know his name.

Amazing that God created a person such as this!

I just got done watching this movie and I was blown away by it. The things this man overcame were amazing to me. I don't write reviews very often, but I was compelled to give this as many stars as I could.

I cried. I cried because I never got the chance to know this man. I wish I could have, but I am thankful to God that he gave Chris a plan and Chris stuck with it. It's obvious how he touched so many people. I am going to strive to be a better person and do the best I can at everything I attempt to do.

Inspiring. Thank you Zack for persevering to make this film. I know the obstacles you faced and how difficult it was to finish. I'm sure you have made Chris proud.

I bought this movie after reading an article at Breitbart News Network. So thank you BNN for taking the time to give this the space and audience it deserves.

I'll be bringing this to my boss on Monday so she can watch it with her grandchildren. They are young enough to be positively influenced by Go Far!

A remarkable life, perfectly captured.
JediPug21 August 2015
I grew up watching the annual Jerry Lewis Labor Day MDA Telethons, and I was familiar with Christopher Rush as he served as the national ambassador from 1983 - 1984. However, as with so many things in life, I lost track of him when his public time with the MDA ended. Finding out about this film was a gift, as it beautifully illustrates Christopher's journey beyond those years.

The director of the film, Zack Arnold, was a friend and classmate of Christopher's, and his personal touch brought an intimacy that made watching 'Go Far' a truly enriching experience.

The film is wonderfully narrated by Mark Hamill. 'Star Wars' meant the world to Christopher (a passion we share!), so having Luke Skywalker himself speaking as Christopher was a real treat!

Family, friends, celebrities -- all whose lives were forever changed by the witness of the astounding bravery of one young man determined to overcome his physical obstacles -- are featured throughout, and their stories, recollections, and anecdotes paint a picture of someone who felt he could accomplish anything he set his mind to... and more often than not, he did! I look at my own life and wonder if I'd have the fortitude and the faith to do the same.

I was moved to tears... I laughed out loud... and my heart was stirred. You can't ask for more than that. I cannot recommend 'Go Far: The Christopher Rush Story' enough.

We should all be so lucky...
escott078022 February 2015
We should all be so lucky to have the attitude, drive, and charisma as Christopher Rush. Some go to pieces over the smallest setback, but Christopher never stopped reaching. By any standard, Christopher is an example of reaching for the very best, but the amount of work he had to do to go as far as he did is a stunning example for all. His inspirational life reached many, near and far, and in this documentary, we have a glimpse of both his public and private life. Told in a series of picture, video, and interview with friends and family, "Go Far," helps to show that it isn't about what a person can't do, but rather what they can.

wonderful tribute, positive message
tsdmyers28-545-61732014 October 2014
A wonderful tribute to a young man who exuded positivity and love of life, undaunted by physical challenges. It sounds as though one couldn't help but like Christopher Rush. He had a smile, a sense of humor, and an ease about him that would win people over. His parents also struck me as remarkable supporters of their son. I have a feeling that Chris could be quite persuasive, and they believed in him and helped him do whatever he set his mind to.

This film is a good reminder that we need not be limited by our weaknesses, but can draw on our strength to "go far", for we all have gifts to share. They may sound like platitudes, but people like Chris uphold these principles beautifully. People like Chris inspire us to believe.

An uplifting and inspiring film about conquering personal adversity.
kathleenhoffman24 June 2015
I am a pediatric home care registered nurse. I watched this film twice and was deeply inspired and impressed by Christopher, his family, friends and acquaintances and how beautiful the interweaving of this uplifting story unfolded. The value of this film in inspiring, teaching and transforming attitudes and lives is powerful and unlimited. It should be required viewing in high school, medical school, every job that serves the public including nursing schools, physical and occupational therapy schools, and rehabilitation facilities. The people in all areas and walks of life that would be enriched by viewing this film is infinite. I am taking it to my home care nursing agency to be viewed by my co- workers and office staff. Hopefully Christopher will continue to enrich peoples lives even though he has gone ahead of us leaving his legacy of love and wisdom. He has touched my heart and renewed in me the deep dignity, respect and hope our clients and their families deserve. Re-define your definition of hero. Thank you for the hard work expense that was involved in producing this truly epic film.

You See The Real Christopher and You'll See The Real You
eric_ham24 October 2014
There are too few people who we meet in our lives that make us want to become better people or who by setting such a great example of drive and kindness, inspire us to be and do more. Christopher Rush was one of those people.

I never knew Christopher but because of the work of countless people touched by Christopher, I now feel I do.

I am so glad that I watched this document of Chris' life because I now feel that I can do so much more and can help others to do the same. I feel now that I must disseminate the messages that Chris himself disseminated his whole life and still does through all who met him and now, through all that meet him through this film.

As a father, I know that I want my children to see the courage and persistence that Christopher had, despite all of the obstacles that life threw his way. He never gave up and did so much. A shining example of a life well lived.

Thank you Christopher Rush.
