When 'Phineas and Ferb' first started to air, Disney Channel was nowhere near as good as it used to be and still isn't. Instead of the likes of the animated Disney shows of the 80s and 90s, most of it was and still is animated shows with childish humour and Disney Channel sitcoms and unfortunately it tended to not be the good ones. This continued throughout the whole of 'Phineas and Ferb's' run to the extent that this became one of the few shows airing on the Channel worth watching.

Both "Great Balls of Water" and "Where's Pinky" are equally strong in their own way. "Great Balls of Water" gets the edge as the superior episode, because of the better main plot and that the secondary plot is also more interesting than the one in "Where's Pinky". Which was actually better than expected, have not been a fan of Pinky in previous episodes and was worried as to whether the main plot in "Where's Pinky" would be too much of an over extended subplot with bland characters like the previous Pinky-oriented episodes were, but that wasn't so.

The double bill is at its weakest with the Candace subplot in "Where's Pinky", which was pretty dull and not particularly inspired despite relating to Candace. It is something that has been done similarly in previous 'Phineas and Ferb' episodes.

However, everything else works incredibly well. The animation is still wonderfully vibrant with very rich attention to detail, the water visuals in "Great Balls of Water" look very inventive. The music is dynamic with the action and the theme song is insanely catchy with very clever and quotable lyrics that anybody still in school fishing for how to spend their vacation will relate to. The voice acting is great.

Furthermore, the writing is very funny and intelligent. Once again, the right balance of being easy to understand for children while not being too juvenile for adults is successful. Both stories are entertaining and energy filled without being too manic, with a very imaginative main plot in "Great Balls of Water". Doofenschmirtz's subplot in that episode is not one of his best or most unique, but is still typically wacky and very amusing. The chemistry is great.

All the characters likewise, even Pinky and the main plot in that episode is not too much of an over extended subplot and benefits from the presence of Phineas and Ferb and the mystery like feel.

In conclusion, great. 9/10.
