If you sat all the way through "Funny People", this should be a breeze!

Warning: Spoilers
I've never reviewed a Simpsons episode in 25 years, so why would I start now? Well, I just watched this one on demand with my daughter (age 26), who has pretty much lived with this show her entire life. It's the one show we can both roar at in unison, and despite the constant bashing of long-time fans, THE SIMPSONS still gets it done in my estimation.

Movie pirating is never gonna' be kept in check, and the writer of this episode (J. Stewart Burns) thought it would be worthy of lampooning any attempts to. He succeeded on all levels. Getting the Apatow gang together (Judd, Rogen, Rudd & Mann) along with quick shot bursts by Rob Halford and Channing Tatum was a stroke of genius. I especially liked the jokes about Apatow's films being too long, and Rogen's characteristic endless stoner cackle.

Keep 'em coming.

Great Episode with Several Really Well Written Celebrity Cameos,
lesleyharris3020 May 2014
Steal This Episode is a brilliant Simpsons episode with a very well written storyline fooled with loads of really funny scenes. The episode also has several hilarious cameos by some great actors towards the end including Paul Rudd,Leslie Mann,Channing Tatum and Judd Apotow, but my favourite wax Will Arnett, who did a great job voicing an FBI agent,I was disappointed by Seth Rogen, who I was looking forward to seeing in this the most, because he had only one line.but that one line was very funny.I loved all the jokes this movie makes about today's movie industry and the movie parodies as well. The episode is written by J.Stewart Burns, who I wish wrote more Simpsons episodes,he normally only write zone very season, but their usually the highlight of the whole season,I really wish he wrote more episodes each season.Steal This Episode is a great Simpsons episode.

Homer lands in hot water with a host of Hollywood stars after he introduces Springfield to movie piracy.

Steal This Episode

I thought this was great, plain and simple. A real return to form, classic 'Simpsons'-esque.

I think sometimes people have such high standards where this show is concerned, the earlier episodes are so beloved, that they can equally be a bit blind to the fact that actually there are some very good episodes produced in the more modern years.

Yes, I know you have to wade through a fair bit more dross to get to them, but still, credit where credit is due, right?

I love it when the show pokes fun at the media, and this episode properly goes for it. It's so much more the better for doing so.

Excellent.

Steal This Review

That's the problem with the "new" seasons of The Simpsons. Homer Simpson is just a talking doll, you no longer identify with any of the family characters, they are like caricatures of what they once were. At least the story is acceptable, albeit half-heartedly.
