- A 20s Asian girl Julie meets a middle-aged man Lyle in a bar, soon, they fall in love for the first sight. Julie moves in Lyle's house quickly, and they enjoy their moments together. But as time goes by, the problem between them gradually occurs. Julie has a serious smoking problem, and she can't live without cigarettes. Because of the desire to control Julie, Lyle asks Julie to quit smoking to prove that she loves Lyle. In this process, there's when they exchange their ideas of intimacy and relationships. More they talk about these topics, more differences between them occur. In Lyle's view, love is just a game. The primary assumption of economics in analyzing human behavior is that people are rational and, therefore, there is no such thing as gratuitous love. And the same time, love is limited resource and rational choice, so there is a strict budget constraint on love. However, in Julie's view, she should feel equity, freedom and self-growth in love and a good relationship. Trapped in this crazy love, Julie knows she should leave Lyle, but she can't because she believes she is still in love with him. After struggling, when Lyle decides to break up and leave Julie, Julie kills Lyle to make him stay with her.—Christina Jia
