I really liked this episode. It was laced with edge-of-the-seat suspense and mystery that had me hooked to my TV throughout the 50-minute runtime.
What attracted me the most was the fact that this isn't your conventional horror TV show like American Horror Story and possibly, The Walking Dead. In it, a lot of the action is occurring off-screen and a lot of the story is still draped in dark curtains of obscurity. Is Ethan a werewolf? Is Grey's life eternal (I haven't read the book so I don't know yet)? What kind of demon possesses Vanessa? Why is Mina being used by the vampires? To be concise, a lot is left to the viewer's imagination.
Additionally, the writing of this show has been great throughout, even beautiful. And I must confess that this episode in particular had me going for the dictionary a couple of times! In short, this is a great TV series and I hope it continues.
P.S: Seeing the previews, I can't wait for next week's episode. Looks fantastic.
