Good Mix!

Warning: Spoilers
As a paranormal show enthusiast this was NOT what I had expected. A lot of times you get a little history to a location on a Paranormal Show, but only just enough. This one actually focuses on the history and WHY a place would have paranormal activity. So worth the watch and creepy at times as well. One of the best shows I have found in a while. I give this a 9/10 simply because some of the episodes could have been a little bit more eloquent. Only by a little though.

I mostly enjoyed the episodes based off of serial killers and murders. Was definitely interesting to see psychologists give comments and to have parapsychologists to explain why a spirit would be attached to a place as well. Gives a new perspective to the paranormal besides the rush of ghost hunting. Makes you want to go out and do your own research on a haunted area!

Good facts, worse than miserable supernaturalism....

Warning: Spoilers
I watched the first episode, and I have to say, it left me split. But I am afraid the paranormal aspect of the show ruined it all.

The history about the case was very interesting, there was a lot of facts I did not know.

Then the paranormal is involved in the episode, and I have to say it sucks. A bunch of unexplored claims of hauntings and quite a lot of focus on a photo, with a supposed spirit. As a photographer I know the "spirit" on the picture is caused by long exposure, which happens often on pictures taken at night. I am amazed they even used something like that in the show. But if people want to see ghosts, they usually see them everywhere.

If the show was all realistic documentary, the show would be awesome. But as it is, it is really REALLY bad.

Haunted History Gettysburg
bygd3 June 2015
I watch a lot of History show on cable, and it infuriates me as to their inaccuracies.. Even the History Channel, one I hear all the time is the amount of soldiers killed at Gettysburg, 51,000 is almost always thrown out. WRONG there were 51,000 Casualties, which is made up of the following

Of these casualties, 7,058 were fatalities (3,155 Union, 3,903 Confederate). Another 33,264 had been wounded (14,529 Union, 18,735 Confederate) and 10,790 were missing (5,365 Union, 5,425 Confederate It is sad, when editors, producers cant get easily verifiable facts correct do your homework

The 60's are calling
lilamcgrew22 November 2023
We got 20 minutes into the Manson murders and had to turn it off.

The narration was all over the place - back and forth through time and constantly repeating. If there isn't enough content for an hour long show without the repetition then it probably isn't worth the time to make. Sadly, there is oodles of material on Manson, so it shouldn't have been a problem.

The reenactment, likewise, was played over and over again - presumably for the shock value. It was gruesome and unnecessary - once was certainly enough.

To top it off, the visual effects were a disaster. Herky jerky movements and transitions designed - I presume - to increase the dramatic tension and mystery. All it achieved was to trigger a migraine.

Other effects included what amounted to 1960's style cartoon laser beams shooting from peoples eyes/faces. The first time I saw it, I couldn't believe it. Then they did it again, and again.

You insult the intelligence of your audience with this style of production.
