In the present Nessa learns that the late Nathaniel was dealing with Monica behind her back with incriminating facts about Shlomo, regarding the use of the optic cables, which were apparently used in wire tapping, though Shlomo denies this. - Eight years ago Nessa was sexually assaulted by one of her captors and after becoming pregnant, is told she will be released unharmed after she gives birth. She agrees provided Atika is released as well. The two of them agree that when release comes, Atika will claim the child as her own. In London, Ephra is desperate to find Nessa. It's revealed that Ephra had allowed the Stein Foundation to be used as a conduit to pay a $1.5 million ransom for the release of an Israeli soldier. Monica Chatwin wheels and deals, arranging for a senior position for herself and forcing Ephra to resign as the head of Stein Industries in return for arranging Nessa's release. In the present, Ephra learns from Atika that Kasim is actually Nessa's child. Nessa learns that the report implicating their old family friend Shlomo Zahary in dealings with Hezbollah was a set up.—garykmcd
