Following his appearance at The Netflix Slam, Carlos Alcaraz is expanding his relationship with the streamer.
Alcaraz, who bested Rafael Nadal in the live tennis tournament that aired earlier this month, is the subject of an eponymous docuseries about the 2024 tennis season.
It comes after the Spaniard, who just reached the quarter finals of Indian Wells, created buzz that he was involved further with Netflix after writing Tudum – Netflix’s catchphrase – on a camera after his victory against Fábián Marozsán in the round of 16 at the BNP Paribas Open.
The docuseries comes after it emerged that Netflix had canceled its last tennis docuseries, Break Point, after two seasons.
Filming for Alcaraz started during The Netflix Slam and the series will look at his career on and off the court over the 2024 season.
It will be produced by Spanish production company Morena Films, which is behind Netflix’s upcoming soccer docuseries La Liga.

The fight, organized by Most Valuable Promotions (Mvp), will take place at the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on Saturday, July 20, and will air live on Netflix as part of the streamer’s continued push into the sports realm. This was followed by the tennis competition, The Netflix Slam, which aired Sunday, March 3, and saw tennis legend Rafael Nadal taking on hot newcomer Carlos Alcaraz. “Ok, I can die now.”
So said a woman seated behind The Hollywood Reporter inside Mandalay Bay’s Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas, host of the inaugural The Netflix Slam. She had just snapped a selfie that captured superstars Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz warming up on center court over her shoulder. Sure, it was a dramatic statement but it wasn’t obscene for such an occasion. There’s no shortage of gasp-worthy moments in Sin City, and there’s no doubt many of the 9,489 seated guests could relate to the sentiment.
The Sunday afternoon showdown, the latest in Netflix’s push for live streaming events, pitted two superstar Spaniards in an exhibition match that could be one of the final few times they meet across a net. The fact that it happened was a bit of a coup, too, as it was rescheduled last year due to Nadal...
