Pretty Pretty Good
speizer-595178 April 2024
Larry David is a genius. The cast is phenomenal. This last season was a gift and the final episode was perfect. General satire coupled with political satire coupled with cringe worthy situations constantly made me laugh out loud. The self referential nature of the Final episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm with scenes from earlier this season, prior seasons and episodes of Seinfeld were brilliant. The parallels between the closing scenes of Curb Your Enthusiasm and Seinfeld were perfect (far exceeding Pretty Pretty Good). I will greatly miss Curb Your Enthusiasm, probably even more than how I missed Seinfeld. The final episode highlighted some of the blurred lines and comic genius of both shows. Fortunately I can still binge watch both Curb and Seinfeld and that gives me Enthusiasm.

The only way it could have ended
jianlevinson8 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
How do you end a show that doesn't really have an overarching story or character arcs? By doing exactly what Curb did for it's finale, reaffirming once and for all that larry as well as all his friends are horribly flawed in a realistic way and that because they are never truly held accountable they will never learn there lesson or change. The final scene of curb could easily be the ending of any regular episode and that's the point. The final season might not have been perfect but the finale was hilarious with great callbacks and fit the theme of the show. Sad to see the show end but at least it went out pretty pretty good.

Nostalgy
pabloapagani8 April 2024
Ohhh I'm going to miss this show! It's been too many years. I've been through the end of Seinfeld. I have digested it. It became the humor repertoire of several generations. But this end is something more. A conductive thread through 40 years. This chapter is very exciting. It has touches of humor like any other, but there is something more. It's all very nostalgic. It's a link through the last 35 years. I understand that Larry could have resorted to many more sensational elements. But this show was always something simple. A unique, naked, direct humor. I consider Curb among the best shows in history.

Top episode of a top series, just as it should be.
ramon_smith8 April 2024
Perfect ending to the series. Great callbacks to series highlights that fans will remember. The starting scene on the plane was one of the funniest i can remember. Really stuck the landing which was obviously important considering the collective opinion on the Seinfeld finale. Great use of meta, by tying in and making reference to that finale throughout the whole episode - brilliant. Have loved the series, some seasons more than others, but so appreciative that this whole season was great, and that I'm left with warmth towards Larry and the nostalgia of the last 20 plus years of watching Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Looooovvvvvveeeeedddd IT. That's how Larry does it. Will miss you Larry soooo muuuch
Hippy118 April 2024
I feel there is a piece of Larry in everyone. He put the finale together as the genius that he is. He doesn't care like we all shouldn't care about being so proper. Get over it. Things aren't that bad. Rules are meant to be broken. Laugh n be laughed at. WOW Bruce Jerry Mika Joe Scarsborough. Willie the prosecutor from as good as it gets. It was great to see everyone from the older episodes. I am going to watch the whole series over again because it makes me laugh n be happy. What's wrong with giving someone a water in line to vote. It just shows how the other side is afraid to lose. Peace!!!!

Appropriate Ending
wookietower8 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I've been critical of this show for the past several seasons. I stopped watching after 2011 and recently caught up on the past few seasons preparing for the finale. I didn't think this last season was anything special. The political humor seemed forced and too many guest stars that I thought created a lack of creativity and laziness in the rest of the cast. Seemed like Jeff and Larry were just mailing it in. However, the finale was great with Jerry coming in and wrapping up 'how the show should've ended'. The twist on the Seinfeld finale was great. Plus the flashbacks reminded me why I loved this show in the first place while not having too many flashbacks.

The perfect goodbye
darrolnicholson9 April 2024
A parody of Seinfeld but this time he hits the mark. So many familiar faces, everyone caused a laugh. Brilliant. One of the best episodes ever, best of season twelve by far. It's with a heavy heart we say goodby but with a huge smile I can rewatch them over again. This episode just proves that curb your enthusiasm is up there with the best programmes never mind sitcoms of all time. Seeing the likes of Mocca Joe and Jerry Seinfeld just enhanced the fun. But Aunty Rae steals the show as always. I hope this is the final season and they don't come back for the unlucky thirteen.

Larry David. You are a legend.

Pretty pretty goodbye
rogerhaddonfield8 April 2024
10/10 but I wish it ended with the camera zooming in on Larry, only for him to turn and say "I hope you remembered to curb your enthusiasm" to the audience. Otherwise perfect. The trial setting is excellent for a show like this and it has some really incredible moments. It is incredible how larry has done this show for a third of his life, and needless to say the title is appropriate for what this show is all about. It feels very conclusive but also in the spirit of the show and what fans have come to love and expect from our favorite unaging vampire. Overall id say this finale is pretty pretty pretty good.

Genius has a name. It's Larry David

Warning: Spoilers
I am glad that I did not read any spoilers prior to seeing this epic episode. How much can someone cram as many of the shows highlights, juxtapose with the appearance of Jerry Seinfeld, along with the opinions of the last Seinfeld episode, Larry David's history of not giving a damn about anything, but questioning everything whether it was his view of today's world and it's events during his various seasons, from the sublime to the ridiculousness of certain subjects and what really should have happened on the final episode of Seinfeld and Jerry saving the day for Larry. This episode really showed the relationship that Larry and David have in life and it was great to see that as a finale. It was bittersweet to see Richard Lewis in his final appearance in the entertainment world and he did not disappoint but continue his legacy. The rest of the cast was top notch and as a fan, I will sorely miss watching Curb after 12 great seasons. Curb Your Enthusiasm, your curtain call deserves a standing ovation. Thank you Larry, for making us laugh and reflect for all these years from Seinfeld to Curb and anything in between. Bravo, Sir!!

You nailed it Larry.
durham1008 April 2024
I was actually never a fan of Seinfeld but was aware the general consensus was the finale wasn't up to scratch. No worries with Curb, this episode is pretty much perfect and had me belly laughing from the off. It also very clever, I particularly liked the appearance of the woman who has been in therapy for quite some time -I'll leave it at that so as not to spoil anything. Oh how I will miss this show and the characters so, so much. And dear, sweet Richard Lewis, you went out on a major high. RIP and let's not forget the marvelous Marty Funkhauser and Larry's dad. Thanks to everyone involved for all of the laughs, the memories and brightening my life. I don't think we will ever see anything like this again. Simply wonderful.

Pretty, pretty, pretty good way to finish
valfebbo9 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Everything about this was perfect. Rectifying the Seinfeld ending was a massive tick, as well as the splendid banter between all of the main characters.

The call backs to the pilot were sensational, with Larry's pants tent and his fight with someone who turned out to be Lewis' girlfriend.

His pants tent is an ode to Seinfeld's finale, with Jerry's ridicule of George's button a reference to the show's inaugural scene.

All the guest appearances and flashbacks were hilarious and Leon is just a wonderful character. Continues to make people laugh in new ways.

So upset it's over but what a perfect way to finish.

pretty... pretty... pretty lame
shaymayo69 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Pretty... pretty... pretty... pretty lame.

I love curb, always have and always will.

The show was genious for a lot of it's run and very funny.

But i had no expectations towards this final season, because too much time had passed, too many important charachters gone, and i could see larry losing it's edge.

This season had it's little moments, but the bulk of it was just a mix of half baked ideas with no connection between them or continuity.

That was larry's strength once, binding all those dotts to something special, smart and funny.

No more.

The best episode was ken/kendra.

The only one that felt like it could hold the old standart and flow of curb.

The finale managed to dissapoint me even without any expectations.

It was obvious larry was playing the seinfeld finalle card all along the season, the question was what twist he will bring.

The twist was lame.

He just redid seinfeld finalle and added the lamest, smallest twist.

Why bring up the character of lewis girlfriend if it has no point at the end?

What added that final scene at the plane in the end?

Dissapointing, nothing special or smart, and not a whole lot of laughs but that's fine, we had a wonderful ride, and thank you larry, the show will always be hall of famer to me.

Mediocre end to a once brilliant show.
andyrichtx8 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
There were some funny moments- Danson being a spotlight hogger and a few of the trial scenes..

But at this point, will just be glad not to read comments from people who think they're witty writing, "Pretty, pretty, pretty good". Like the David staredown, it's played. SO played!

I LIKED the Seinfeld finale - they brought back memorable characters in a unique manner with a credible trial milieu. For those who didn't like it, Curb gave an alternative ending with the reunion season.

Who did they bring back here? Mocha Joe, the country club owner and midriff girl were legit foes, but where were Sammi, Wanda, Loretta Black, Ben Stiller, Michael McKean and others that Larry offended far more often and severely (and deserved a curtain call).

Seinfeld's brilliance was in its tying together various plot lines. What happened to Sienna Miller, Lori Loughlin, and Susie's caftan business?

Just as Curb made Asians barely speaking English, they portrayed Atlantans as Dukes of Hazard rubes. Lazy stereotypes.

Like Archie Bunker's Place was a sad finish to the brilliant All in the Family, this show held on too long. Intermittent laughs, but far fewer and longer in between.

A finale that takes everything full circle
grantss8 April 2024
Larry, Leon, Jeff and Susie fly to Atlanta for Larry's much-publicised trial. Old friends join them in what becomes a quite the event. The prosecutor is a wily foe and soon things are going quite badly for Larry. Many old enemies resurface.

A finale that, like most finales, is quite nostalgic and captures many of the great moments in the history of the series. It very quickly starts feeling very Seinfeldesque in its plot and approach, which initially made me a bit disappointed, figuring it was unoriginal.

I then realised that this is the point: Larry David is taking everything full circle, linking Curb Your Enthusiasm's roots to the end of Seinfeld. Jerry Seinfeld even appears and has a decent amount of screentime, just to ram the point home!

All in all, it's quite funny (though, like Season 12 in general, not quite up to the same standards as recent seasons), nostalgic and ties things up quite neatly.

I'm not sure that this episode could have been any better. I actually have never been sad to see a TV show end, but I'm really sad this one ended - but my goodness did it end on such a high. Absolutely brilliant on so many levels. Homage to the fans, homage to the characters and homage to the persona that Larry David created. Sheer and utter storytelling genius! This has definately been my favourite series - I think one or two episodes were a wobble but when it all came together it is purely a work of art. Well done to the writers, cast and crew - you did an absolutely fantastic job! Thank you for making this.

Perfection! Cleverness, Tenacity
rokoo_88811 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
"No lessons learned" you can tell even before watching the episode that you're promised something unique, striking the nerve of a remembered situation. The greatness of this particular episode is that it brought back Seinfeld's finale to walk side by side with Curb's. Same elements, same idea, same flow. Yet way way better, showing how much Larry is a tenacious person, as I remember him defending Seinfeld finale every time he was questioned about ruining it, and I was not on his side on that, however, insisting on doing it the same way and eventually turning all of this previous consensus toward your side, need boldness, made it clear to us as audience "lesson learned", especially with that scene of Larry sitting in prison, reshooting the very first Curb's scene of pants tent, then zooming out the scene to bring a flashback of Seinfeld's exact scene, cutted by Jerry's intelligent twist flipping the situation upside down, followed by Larry realizing that this was the way they should have ended Seinfeld is truly a work of art. Bravo Laary!

Great finale with "some" good twists
fishermanhossmk11 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I loved it. I thought this was a great conclusion to the show as a whole. Having said that (to quote Larry), I felt that the trial cameos left a lot to be desired. Seinfeld's finale did such a great job of having a revolving door of familiar faces from the entire run of the show. This one maybe scratched 25% of what it could have had. There were a number of appearances and call backs from earlier episodes that I was hoping for that unfortunately did not come to pass. Some points of the episode did easily allow one to predict where everything was leading up to, but I did like how they "fixed" the Seinfeld finale. All in all, really enjoyed it.

Brilliant end to 12 seasons
interactbiz15 April 2024
I suppose Curb will live on in reruns, but what an inspired way to end production.

Talking about nasty drunks a friend said, "Always remember that alcohol reveals the true self. With reduced inhibitions, nasty people act out the behavior their sober selves suppress."

The Larry David character has no inhibitions. He has the kinds of reactions that many people experience but choose to hide because they want to get along with others.

I doubt there is any other TV series that lasted 12 seasons while featuring a thoroughly unlikeable main character. Or should that be the main characters?

The final episode of Curb must have been fun for the cast. Many former players return to revisit past segments.

Larry David has spent much of his career doing groundbreaking comedy. It's sad if this is his final work, but what a career he's given us.

Great on many levels. But-
wouldyoulike_sballs9 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This was great. Don't get me wrong. Loved having Jerry back, loved the way it was an allusion to the Seinfeld finale-and loved the plotlines in the episode, especially with Richard and his girlfriend. They ended it well.

But I can't give it a 10, because in all likelihood, I will never want to watch the long scenes with the witnesses testifying ever again. It's the age of streaming. I've seen the whole show, and recently, like many people watching. It's just not fun to watch a compilation anymore. Having a montage like that is just too boring. And the courtroom scenes didn't have quite enough else in them to justify it.

Most likely I will just skip through a lot of that when I re-watch and enjoy the rest for what it is. So, I'll give it a 9/10 because the rest was fabulous.

Although I kinda wanted to see Larry get shot by Lewis' ex-girlfriend after leaving the jail, to be real with you.

SUPERB!
cassan218410 April 2024
Looking forward to watching this and the rest of the final series another 999,999 times to catch up to the million times I've watched every other episode.

I don't think it could have been any better, it felt an appropriate way to end it all. I can remember before I ever watched this my brother was obsessed and I just didn't get it. Well thankfully my brother really does love me because he insisted I sit and watch it; it's been my favourite comedy ever since.

Brilliant! Hilarious! Nostalgic!

Bravo to Larry and the whole cast and crew, you've all been magnificent!!

Rest in peace Richard Lewis.

Episode 1210
bobcobb30111 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Curb Your Enthusiasm will go down as the second best comedy of all-time, trailing only Seinfeld.

Seinfeld had a polarizing series finale and this one has one too. They nearly mirrored the courtroom scene and concept, but had a big switcharoo at the end.

It was way too long and not overly funny, but there were some moments that made me laugh.

Auntie Rae struggling to say Jeff's fake name multiple times was a good gag, Leon in the courtroom was funny and they got some guest stars to come back and even show us how much the camera quality has improved since 2000.

This is an iconic show, but this final season was just poor. Not a horrible finale though.

Wait a minute. Let me look that up...
Nozz29 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
First of all, it was painful to watch Richard Lewis nearing the end of his life. Loved him in "Anything but Love" and in standup. Y'hi zikhro barukh (Blessed be his memory). That said...

Whereas the Seinfeld finale showed the gang punished for a crime that displayed their characteristic self-centeredness, Larry here gets punished for a rare act of altruism. That's a nice touch of irony. (Not that Seinfeld never did anything similar; for example, George's idea that the security guard deserves a chair didn't work out great in Seinfeld season 7 ep 3.) But the Curb Your Enthusiasm courtroom scene went head-to-head with its Seinfeld predecessor and kind of lost. Too much schtick that had too little to do with the suspenseful issue at hand.

Maybe a little more advance attention to the juror who causes the mistrial might have helped. A little more behavior showing he's the kind of person who flouts the rules. Because already the chance spotting of him outside his quarantine is a clumsy coincidence.

And then the mistrial itself. That sent me straight to the web to look up what happens after a mistrial. The answer seems to be that ordinarily the defendant isn't automatically let off, as this episode seems to imply. The defendant can be tried again for the same crime. So-- regarding the ending-- as Larry David might say, "Mmm... I don't think so."

One seasons too many
dv19581 May 2024
My rating is for the final season, not the final episode. I'm a huge. Larry David fan but I'm glad he's ending the series. The last episode salvaged the final season but only just. I was incredibly disappointed in the last season. My wife and I binge watched it over two days and were relieved when we finally finished. The genius of the series was watching Larry doing a slow burn with accumulating annoyances before the inevitable hilarious explosion. The past two seasons they seemed to skip past the foreplay and go right to the explosion. That also happened with George during the last season of Seinfeld.

My last criticism is about Leon. I'm no prude. I never would have watched the show if I was. But his character just became repulsive. A well-placed f-bomb is funny. But not when it's every other word. That's just lazy.

On the whole I loved the series, but I'm glad it's over. Thanks for the entertainment Larry.

Leaning into the Seinfeld finale
theojclark8 April 2024
While I understood the criticism of the Seinfeld finale, i still think it's fantastic and does exactly what a finale should do. LD gave a middle finger to Allison Janney in the show, and by ending Curb with a ridiculous court case, the middle finger to anyone who didn't like the Seinfeld finale.

All the key players are represented in the episode and get to rehash some of their best interactions with Larry. Leon watching Seinfeld and characterising it was some of the best material.

And as a fellow hater of flies indoors, I completely understood and appreciated Larry's inopportune timing when it came to murdering a fly.

Chef's kiss.
