For this documentary, Henri Alekan, after over 115 films, gives the viewer concrete examples of his science of lighting as a cinematographer. Answering Michel Dumoulin's request, he creates uniquely atmospheric lighting corresponding to the various moods of a one and single character. He also exchanges views about cinematography with Nestor Almendros and Wim Wenders.
