- After Teo's fatally failed attempt on Henry's life in Kopenhagen, Annie is the prime suspect, yet follows him to Germany, finding out he's secretly meeting his shady ex. Joan is suspended by senator Pierson, who sacrificed her marriage to be exempt from her exposure blackmail. The interim director puts Calder in charge of bringing in Annie at any cost. Auggie's attempts to protect her lead to his own removal, but he sets up an informal support line with loyal CIA friends. A mole kills one of Calder's men, yet he agrees to grant her a few hours to bring evidence against Henry and allows her clandestine extraction by Eyal as fake dead.—KGF Vissers
- Anacostia Air Force Base, Detention Center Arthur's lawyer Bianca insists he's innocent to the gathered media. She brings him to see Joan. Joan tells him Washington is after him. They want to get Annie out of Germany, but she's not following communication protocol. Joan gets a note that Senator Pierson is waiting for her in her office.
Karstadt, Germany Annie goes into a salon and asks for a manicure. She ducks into the bathroom and works to get the blood out of her clothes. She grabs a woman's handbag on her way out and hears a news broadcast about the bombing, which says Teo is still on the loose. Annie gets in her stolen car and drives off.
Annie calls Auggie, needing a way into Frankfurt. He tells her to stay off the Autobahn, never use the same phone twice and that she can't get any official agency support. He directs her where to go.
Joan meets Sen. Pierson back in her office, who's relishing seeing Joan squirm after Joan essentially blackmailed her to get her job. Pierson tells Joan the DCI is going to put Joan on leave until an inquest can be done to gauge her involvement with Teo, Arthur and the bombing. Sen. Pierson's husband now knows about the affair that Joan had dirt on (from Seth Newman's files), so Joan has no more leverage.
At Langley, Eric Braithwaite addresses the troops, telling them he's acting in charge with Joan on leave and the top priority is getting Annie out of Germany, which Calder Michaels is heading to Germany to oversee.
Auggie talks to Calder privately, asking him to give Annie six hours to run her op, but Calder won't go along when Auggie won't give him more info.
Auggie goes to Joan's office to see her packing up. She was given 15 minutes to clear out. Her security clearance was already revoked. She tells Auggie to help Annie as much as he can. She passes out.
Paramedics come and think she has preeclampsia related to her pregnancy and take her to the hospital. She tells Auggie to keep her posted.
Annie arrives in Frankfurt. She ditches her car, steals a cell phone from a café and buys a knife off the street. She goes into a fancy store, cuts the security tags out of clothes and walks out.
Auggie goes to Barber for help running facial recognition and full sweep of Frankfurt for Henry.
Henry drops in the Air Force holding facility to gloat over Arthur.
Barber finds Henry on footage leaving a Frankfurt restaurant two days ago.
Annie goes to an Internet café and sweet talks a young man into using his laptop. She connects with Auggie in a chat room and he gives her the name of the restaurant where Henry was spotted.
Calder Michaels lands in Germany, where his old friend Gary is leading the exfiltration of Annie. Calder vetoes Gary's plan, saying he wants to go into Frankfurt to find out what Annie is up to.
Annie goes to the restaurant. She makes up a story about Henry being her dad and wondering if he's having an affair. A waiter remembers he was there with a woman and brought flowers and ordered wine. Annie steals another phone and calls Auggie. They think it's a meeting with a security person or cut-out.
Annie is standing on the street corner when she sees Gary watching her. She takes off running. She runs into a courtyard and walks out casually through a restaurant, then across the street and into another courtyard. She slips Gary.
Gary radios that he lost her then walks around the corner and runs into the assassin who drove Annie off the road and set Teo up launching the missile. Gary knows him as Jack, and thinks he's working the op as an independent contractor. Jack shoots him.
Calder finds Gary's body and back in Langley, Eric gives a briefing that says Annie is now to be considered a rogue agent.
Auggie takes exception and starts yelling, but hears Henry's voice behind him. Sen. Pierson went to the DCI and Henry's been brought in as a consultant. Auggie tries to explain to the gathered room that Henry's behind everything, but he can't back anything up. Finally, he grabs Henry and puts him in a choke hold and security has to haul him away.
A German police officer sees Annie and radios it in. Calder hears and races to intercept her. Annie runs as police cars converge on her. Calder is on her tail and about to catch up when police cars cut him off. Annie runs away as Calder and his team confront the police.
Auggie visits Joan in the hospital to catch her up. He has security photos of all the women who were at the restaurant when Henry was there. Joan immediately recognizes Sanaa, Jai's mom and Henry's ex-wife. She works for a company that does a lot of business on the European exchange.
She tells Auggie to try to get Sanaa's phone history, through his friend at the NSA. "Auggie, report in. We might both be fired but you still work for me," Joan says.
Annie calls in with a new stolen phone. He catches Annie up about Sanaa and Gary's death. Auggie suggests Annie find Calder to get out, but Annie wants to find Sanaa, turn her and use her against Henry. She remembers what Henry said about Annie not seeing the whole chess board and says she wants to remove herself from the board.
Auggie urges her not to, warning that even if it works, she could be out at the CIA. He tells her to call Calder.
Annie calls Calder to come meet her alone, he does.
Annie tells Calder she needs his help, reminding what he said in Colombia about them both working or the same side. "The only way you're leaving Frankfurt is with me or in a body bag," he says. "That's what I'm counting on."
Later, Calder tells his men she's gone, but dropped an ID card to the European Futures exchange. He radios back to Langley and Henry suggests Annie is planning an even bigger attack. Eric Braithwait authorizes using deadly force. Calder says they've authorized him to do what they were going to do anyway.
Annie writes a postcard to her sister Danielle, asking her to remember when they were kids and their dad would always point out Venus in the sky no matter where they were. She tells Danielle to think of her whenever she sees it.
Annie puts on gloves and goes to the elevator at the commerce Bank. Calder waits on the 32nd floor (the scenes from the season premiere).
Back at Langley, Eric Braithwaite and Henry Wilcox watch on surveillance footage. Annie rides up to the 32nd floor.
Calder gets word she's on the way up and says he's going radio silent. Annie calls Auggie on his personal cell phone and Henry and everyone listens in to the tap as Auggie tells her she doesn't have to go through with it and he loves her.
She drops the phone and he hears as the elevator doors open.
Calder takes out his two guns and fires. Annie slumps to the ground in the elevator. There's a small pool of blood. Calder checks her pulse then radios in that Annie is dead.
Back at Langley, Henry says it had to be done.
German police and paramedics report to the scene. Henry's assassin Jack steps in and feels Annie's pulse as she's wheeled away.
Someone comes out to sign for her body -- it's her old Mossad friend Eyal. He takes custody of her body and drives off.
He pulls over and injects her with something and she sits up with a start. It worked.
He gives her cash, clothes and a file on Henry Wilcox. This is the end of Annie Walker. He wishes her luck.
