- In the first scene of the episode, women are shown topless at a bar in the background. Not overly explicit.
- Men and women are shown getting into a river to bathe (non sexual). One of the men stares at a woman and her breasts are shown, as well as many other women.

- "The Mountain and the Viper" is the second most graphically violent yet to date. There is constant gore and blood and guts in this episode, especially the ending.
- In the opening scene, an army attacks a village and you see a moderate amount of blood all at once. This scene consists throat and back slitting and stabbing.
- In another scene, a man is limbless and flayed completely on a wooden plank, we see lots of blood and gore and we can see his rib cage covered in guts and intestines. A soldier gets an axe lodged in the top of his head, minimal amount of blood leaks.

- There is an over-excessive amount of blood and guts that are both equally frightening and intense. This episode consists of throat slitting, back slitting, stabbing, and a man having his teeth punched out, eyes gouged out, and head smashed open with blood, brains, bone, and skin exploding everywhere.

Violence & Gore
- In the final scene, most known for its violence and gore, a trial by combat commences. a man named Oberyn Martell battles another much larger man named Gregor Clegane and, at the end of the battle, Martell slits Clegane's Achilles heel and impales him with a poisoned spear. Martell then circles Clegane, demanding him to confess the rape and murder of Elia Martell and her children. Eventually, Oberyn lets his guard down and Gregor Clegane tumbles him to the ground, punches him in the mouth and causing his teeth to fall off, with some blood splattering on the ground and subsequently, Clegane confesses the murder as he gouges Oberyn's eyes out with his thumbs and we see plenty of blood coming out from his eye-sockets as he screams in extreme agony and eventually, due to the extreme force applied to his skull, Oberyn's head is crushed into a bloody, gory mess with an explosion of blood, brain matter, bone and skin bursting out and splattering everywhere, as Oberyn's wife reacts by screaming in horror and later, we see the extremely gory aftermath, displaying Oberyn's now fully smashed head, with gore surrounding the area and a large pool of blood forming on the surface. This entire sequence is EXTREMELY graphic.
