A Terribly Timed Review

I saw this when it came out, and 8 years later it popped back into my memory. Maybe its tied to the Main Art theater in Royal Oak being torn down.

Either way, I really enjoyed this movie. Yes, it is one more take on the - one crazy night / its confusing and agonizing to be a young person genres, but it is handled with less weight attached. It is thoroughly goofy and awkward and enjoyable, with plenty of Detroit specific references.

Not up to much.

Just saw this. Very poor fare: like the noodlings of film students. The actor who plays Crispy is unconvincing. The dialogue is poorly written and is inflated at all times with a pompous sense of self-satisfaction. Seems like the writers just attempted to replicate the formula of other 'coming of age' movies but they didn't have the wits to do it.
