A house party; it's a familiar function destined to be a great time with laughter, zero stress, reinforced bonds, and traditional celebration. However, what starts off to be a seemingly promising day quickly falls into a downward-spiral.
Charlotte (K. Barnes), a gorgeous 20-something-year-old, is arriving home for the first time in a while. She calls her Mom (Spencer) to notify her of her late arrival. Her mom comments that she's looking forward to meeting Charlotte's significant other, but Charlotte is surprised at her eager tone and questions if her Dad (Murphy) is on the same page. Her mom reassures her not to worry about him, for her dad is preoccupied by the household's dysfunctional toilet. And boy, does he have a load on his hands...
When Charlotte and her significant other arrive, the family is shocked to find out that "Phil" (Gallo) is not who they imaged this person to be. Their world is turned upside down, and Charlotte is forced to face her father (with the help of her mother, of course).
While Charlotte's sister Savannah (Perry) entertains Phil, Charlotte turns to her brother Jackson (M. Barnes) for his advice on how she should handle the situation. All in all, he's not very helpful, but has become very fond of Phil himself.
Charlotte is forced to confront the growing tension as her parents continue to argue, and her siblings are being harassing.
Acceptance and appreciation is ultimately granted to Phil who gives a hand in assisting Charlotte's father's problem.
This film made for the 48 Hour Film Project: PROVIDENCE (Rhode Island).
