Warning: Spoilers
First of all - the ninth season really goes the way I enjoy! Back to the episode: We start where we left the last time - death of the "P"rophet. The funeral - I think they killed me, so emotional it was! It reminded me the funeral of John a lot and it was so sad seeing Dean completely in despair. Later Castiel joins Dean in the bunker and together they discuss what Dean truly did to protect Sam. Meanwhile more information about Gadreel is told. Seeking for his rehabilitation Gadreel is capable of murder of his old-best friend, despite the fact he has his own family. Dean is ready to negotiate with the demon in the dungeon - Crowley himself. He requires "a massage" and all three of them (Castiel, Dean and Crowley) are on their way to catch Gadreel. They visit a "loyal demon" of Crowley, Cecily, who gives Crowley information about the ongoing wars in Heaven and in Hell. She finds Impala for Crowley as well and that means Gadreel is found. He is caught right after the murder of Abner ("friend" of Gadreel). Crowley begins with his art, trying to get to real Sam - but Gadreel is strong enough to resist. They have to choose a different strategy - Crowley suggests possessing Sam to wake him up in exchange for Crowley's freedom. The moment Dean agrees, so it happens. Sam rejects Gadreel who later possesses his ex-vessel, Crowley walks free - just in time for Abaddon's arrival. Castiel, Sam and Dean run away, Crowley faces Abaddon - he reminds her that not all of the demons are on her side (Vote Crowley ;) and then he vanishes. Dean chooses to leave Sam to avoid losses...

This episode was an excellent example to remind us why we love the show. There were so many characters in Road Trip, but it all worked together. I really enjoyed Gadreel's story, return of his ex-vessel and the scenes with Crowley - he surely is the charismatic King (Although i am a huge fan of Abaddon as well- You may not like her, but she's got style!)Now to the actors (I'm still clapping in my mind). I've already mentioned how strong was the opening, but Jensen keeps the high level all the time. As well as the others of course! Jared had the opportunity to give more space to Gadreel - and he was really scary. His blind faith that what he's doing is right - you wouldn't invite him for a cup of tea I think...Castiel taking Gadreel down- one of the best parts ever! The problem is I simply can't pick up the best moment of this episode - too many of them - "torturing" Gadreel, Crowley inside Moose's head, Cas vs. Gadreel, Crowley vs. Abaddon, Dean watching Kevin burn, Dean watching Sam suffer...The last scene, dear God!... Another thing to be mentioned: technical stuff - work with camera and light was awesome! And the location choices! The abandoned factory/warehouse where Crowley tries to rescue Sam - Did you notice the ventilator? (scene when Dean wants Castiel to humor him) It absolutely reminded me season 4 - On The Head of A Pin Dean vs. Alastair and of course Bobby's panic room - using the motive of ventilator was very clever.

Simply: Supernatural, you made my day! ....PS: And don't forget to vote! :D

Definitely in the top 3, could be best episode ever!

Warning: Spoilers
So much happened in this episode! Kevin's death just before one month break makes the viewers to consider why the show is so generous to spend one of the main characters of the last 2 seasons. On the other hand Crowley has a very critical role in this episode as saving Sam from Gadreel. Human blood seems to be changing Crowley in a way that the viewers desired. However I've mostly enjoyed the parts where Dean, Castiel and Crowley hang out. Sam could be in the shadows in the next episodes for a while because the synergy that the three of them caught was awesome! This show had peaks and bottoms in the past however the content of this episode was so satisfying and probably that is why this is a candidate for the top!

Moves the season along nicely. Some nice Crowley moments
CubsandCulture18 September 2020
One of things I find disappointing in the later seasons (and to a lesser extent in seasons 4, 5) is just how much of each season is devoted to the ongoing plotline. The show is at its best when it is exploring individual stories that connect strongly to the central narrative. The mythos episodes are entertaining but they end up feeling creaky and overburden with narrative debt. This episode is a good example of this tendency while also largely working-that stops happening in later seasons when the show becomes a tired muddle. There is no story in this episode in itself. It is merely a collections of scenes that wrap up prior events or start future ones. It is all entertaining in large part because the writing is crisp enough and the developments are not necessarily predictable. If anything the episode is about Crowley and Sheppard is always entertaining. But something is *missing* in episodes like this. the certain spark that allowed each mythos episode to feel new, exciting and unique.

interesting plot twists!

Warning: Spoilers
Road Trip is a segue episode which develops two main plots for the end of season nine. I cannot believe we are into season nine. Where has all the time gone!?! I digress, Road trip's story has Sam, Dean, Castiel, and Crowley exercise Sam's unwanted guest. Road trip leaves the viewer wanting, and anticipating more! Crowley is free, and Sam has another split with Dean. Dean always makes the tough decision on his own, and decides to take the hit for the decision by himself. That is why we love the character because Dean means well. The viewer is left hanging with the questions What will Crowley do next. Is the split between the brothers permanent? Road Trip leaves the viewer hanging. A must see episode for season nine! Eight out of ten.

Yay Kevins Gone

Warning: Spoilers
Thank god Kevin is gone. He was getting so annoying in these last few episodes, with all his whining and complaining over and over. Gadreel is also quite annoying. His cadence and his tone are getting a bit overused, so hopefully he doesn't last too much longer. Dean, Crowley, and Cas are a fun group of people for an episode, I hope this happens again sometime soon. I think this is the first time we see a dual possession as well, and Gadreel is ousted from Sam. I'm sure Sam will be just delightful with Dean about this whole thing, and will hold it against him for the foreseeable future. Crowley is taking a much more central role in the series, and this is definitely for the better.

Let's talk about sam and dean relationship
hannanah-033465 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
First of all.. I benched watch the show from season 1, soo i have a very little time to digest each episode and the feeling I'm feeling while watching the show is overflowing.. and that's why i hate sam. I already hate him on the early seasons when demonic bloods is still a hot topic, not because he has the blood.. but all stupid decisions he's been making.. failings dean over and over again and how happy i am when dean finally took a stand and say he was done with him.. and he keep making the same mistake with excuses he thought it was for the best.. but as always dean always back at it again and trust sam. But, now.. dean make this 'mistake' and sam already make him leave and act like he fed up with dean ? He act like a freakin saints who doesn't make any mistake before. Sam is bullshyt and dean should get over it.

Also, I'm getting tired with their drama..I know they are selling the main character bonds with each other by putting family first..this whole 'i made a mistake and i have a problem but let's never tell him until he finds out himself and go all angry about it but then we will say how sorry we are and how there are no other way but do this and everything back to normal' Thing is getting old and ragged now.. Try do something else please.

So many plot holes
shwetafabm30 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I liked S9's starting. I am rewatching this and i might have stopped a before, i stopped somewhere at S9, i remember i was getting frustrated with it and i am again. I didn't feel like this at S7 which people say is the worst... I am just not buying the gazillion stupid plot holes. I know they want to extend Crowley's role here but are we to buy Dean really lets him off the hook? He has had no problems offing Demon's in the back in the past especially this one that kidnapped Lisa and Ben, oh but we are supposed to forget about that. How does this angel healing thing work exactly? Why doesn't Cass just bring kevin back? I don't understand the logic, he asked Charlie back...oh because show doesn't want him back, the in universe stuff is following what the show wants too much at this point. Cas gets and loses powers as per convenience to stakes and plot. Anyone can pretty much come back i suppose but only who they want do. Crowley doesn't act like Crowley who could easily escape. Dean doesn't act like Dean who would kill a demon deal or not. Angels use stolen winchester wheels to travel. You know if Lisa had actually died instead of being saved by Cass or Crowley when killing people in end of S8 killed Lisa and Ben like he should easily have since they can be easily found we would have never been here with Crowley getting to walk. The fact that something completely thrown out from s6 affects the show this much is annoying. I did have a problem with the angels even driving but i think they don't have their wings or something in the sense they can't teleport.

Why oh why does Sam always get a pass.
toner-joseph98 November 2022
This is not, I repeat not a review of this episode. This is me wondering why a character in the show who repeatedly almost ended the world never once took responsibility for his actions. Sam always had a reason that "absolved" him and yet he constantly judged Dean who always took responsibility for his choices. My personal thought on this is that Jared Padalecki wanted the show to be his but the way Jensen Ackels played Dean made it impossible for that to happen. Also(again my own opinion) Padalecki can't act. Even in the Walker Texas reboot he was crap. Sam should have never come back after the end of season 5, it almost killed the show.
