Let's wreck characters and logic for unessesary drama
tatangakarvel14 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Adding "Ross & Rachel" dynamics is hurtful to the whole series. There is no need to destroy relationships over and over to keep people interested.

I don't like a series for it's unlogical tension between characters, I like it for functioning cohesion, friendship, team spirit etc.

No need for ruining relationships, friendships and trust between characters. Don't destroy everything for nothing. It's really like a broken record when you kill of character arcs over and over for some cheap cliffhangers. The series "Friends" really really suffers from this kind of bad writing and this Rookie episode is heading further in that direction.

The storylines feel more and more like bad A. I. output then good writing. How about show us the development of the city? How about show us how good policework, with socialwork together inspires more and more humans to work together and help each other? Like "My name is earl" did. More and more of the surrounding world changed their way, because Earl inspired them.

Why did "StarTrek Next Generation" work?

You have an amazing cast. Don't throw it away for cheap drama. Makes me wanna watch it less and less. Also the girlboss bs is really annoying. Let all characters be cool. Don't diminish men all the freaking time.

Honest review of season 6 so far
imtheamplifier12 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I'm still a fan of this show but I cannot stay silent anymore, the show is clearly becoming boring and less detailed plot-wise.

At the end of season 5 I predicted there could be a global story line, so it's been 6 episodes already and this big thing fell off after the mysterious ending of S6:E1. We only got very few tangible plot lines so far, and those became boring really quick: John and Bailey annoying scenes, Tim and Lucy arguing, Lopez and Harper trying to look cool, the only interesting one is Aaron's arc.

Getting back to the actual episode, there he is - Ray aka "I am your airstrike", he gets solved in 2 minutes with minimal consequences for Tim, prior Lucy was threatened by Ray.

So knowing Monica was involved into the big con when she advised to get rid of the thief - this gives me a phantom solid hunch that this sleeping story line might come out soon. Postponing this line makes the previous episodes fillers if you ask me. We know that Monica is mr. Stone's lawyer, his arc is last seen when he talked to Oscar about revenge, so my educated guess is that there will be a jailbreak soon organized on the funds the crew stole in S6E1, additionally this is when Ray gets out and reopens his revenge arc too. My concern is that this show shouldn't be a one episode - one story, or which is much worse - one (final) episode - all stories resolve, we need a constantly continuing episodic show about police, less romance scenes preferably too.

Tim & Lucy ??
doug2go11 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This show was a 9 until the last 5 minutes - it has action, suspense , drama , humor and romance - so what went wrong. My first thought was the show runner went brain dead but than I realized that they are paid to change the status quo and to recharge a series even if it isn't broken . The relationship between Lucy and Tim was a reliable anchor to a show that thrived on action . Their relationship was taking away from Nathan and Bailey and if I had to guess that didn't sit too well with the star - My interest in the Rookie just took a serious hit - in the first place the reason for the break up was at best contrived and bears no resemblance to a real world reason to break up a solid relationship - I have to assume the show runner has never had a relationship and is at best 12 years old.

Crash and burn
Pattto29 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I started watching this show about a month or so ago, and have watched every episode. I can live with the exaggerated police stories, like most modern tv/movies, where characters experience things in a few episodes that someone in real life would need an entire career. My father was a 30 year street cop in a major city, and he never shot anyone, even though he was a marksman. The weekly shootouts indicate that LA is the most dangerous city in the world. But as I said, I can live with these action stories.

However, to me the show is much more about the relationships of the characters, and there have many great storylines. Tim/Lucy is probably my favorite, but this episode just trashed Tim's character beyond repair, it has trashed his whole persona over six seasons as a fraud. I don't know how the show will recover from this terrible attempt for cheap drama...
