Strange episode but still very enjoyable

The whole plot of the visions of alternate lives was interesting but a bit annoying and adding extra drama which we did not need but liked Damon and Enzos humour and there was still a lot of good scenes and interactions here as well.

One of the all time best episodes of the series!

Warning: Spoilers
I have been a huge Vampire Diaries fan for years, and every season has been rock on. This season has been great. I had high hopes going into watching last night's episode and the episode itself scored higher than I even thought. It was a great classic episode that brought back viewers to season 1 when Stefan and Elena's relationship was the core ship of the show. A lot of things have changed since then, but Paul Wesley and Nina Dobrev still have as amazing chemistry now as they did back in season 1. The whole storyline of the episode about Stefan and Elena having alternate reality dreams of the life they could have had was incredible. It really makes you think deeply about what their lives could have been like if this was just a teeny drama and not a supernatural/fantasy drama. Of course near the end of the episode the twist that ruined Stefan and Elena's visions was that Stefan and Elena were never fated to fall in love with each other. The doppelgänger prophecy did not have to do with them but rather helping the Travelers break a centuries long curse that was placed among themselves. Still one of the ending scenes in the episode taking place in present day did have a real and epic Stefan and Elena moment where Stefan and Elena had a heart to heart conversation discussing their past relationship with each other. It almost made me tear up and cry. It is basically a scene that any Stelena shipper will watch over and over again. Overall, the episode was wonderfully directed by Stefan himself, Paul Wesley. As a first timer Paul kicked ass directing and I hope to see him direct more in the show's future. I give it a 10/10!

Travellers and the doppelganger prophecy

Warning: Spoilers
Damon is with Enzo still trying to process the break up with Elena. Enzo reviews what he was told so far - they broke up then had sex.

Enzo gets a call from Caroline asking to tell Damon that Stefan and Elena have been getting visions of each other. Enzo jokes Elena is getting sex rump dreams. Elena immediately replies they are not sex dreams and Caroline calls them romance dreams. Damon doesn't want to hear about it because of the doppelganger fate theory that they are to be together.

Liv gets Matt and Tyler to stab themselves with the Travellers' knife to check they are free.

Sheriff Forbes has her body taken over by a Passenger and kills Matt by stabbing him in the neck. He passes through Bonnie as he is dead but is wearing the ring. In the Other Side, Kol shows up telling Matt he needs to go back and say what happened here. Vicki is blown off to the darkness.

One of the Travellers gets into Sheriff Forbes and Tyler stabs the body with the knife.
