The Oil Company
claudio_carvalho29 January 2022
Rigsby, Van Pelt and their baby are attacked at home by a man wearing mask. The FBI hire them as consultants and the agents help them to look for suspects that might have attacked them. Meanwhile, a man is found dead in an oil fracking site and Kim Fischer and Patrick Jane are assigned for the case. They interview the oil company supervisor and they learn that the man was a local farmer that has sued the company for damages in the environment. Then they visit the widow, who is receiving some friend at home, and they interview them too and also learn that the oil company was bribing the locals to turn a blind eye to their damage. Patrick uses his skills to disclose hidden secrets and the killer.

"Grey Water" is another great episode of "The Mentalist", where Patrick Jane solves two cases and not only the murder. His ability to see things that nobody else observes is impressive. My vote is eight.

Another Victory For The Mentalist.
Dariush-ThePersian17 March 2014
"Grey Water" is another great episode from The Mentalist.....after "The Golden Hammer" all the episodes were better than the previous ones and this one was the greatest of The Mentalist 2 so far....Grey Water has two main story lines: A.The search for the killer of an anti-fracking advocate and B.The hunt for whoever is killing the former CBI members....the way both of these plots are handled at the same time was great...this episode is full of surprises and just as it makes you laugh sometimes...it will make you feel butterflies in your stomach..If I say anything more I might spoil the episode for you,so have fun and enjoy "Grey Water".

Security!

It seems that series like these all suffer from the same dumbness that expects one to suspend all belief in logic. The Rigsby's are now owners of their own digital security service but fail to secure their home from intruders and the like by not utilizing the very tools they sell? And the team constantly investigates areas without any type of backup?

I'm with xtoe on this one!

I basically blocked out this episode within the first few minutes due to the pure stupidity of its premise -- that 2 experts in security can't even secure their own home. And unfortunately, this kind of glaring stupidity permeates the entire series. A few episodes are exceptionally good, but most range from mediocre filler to outright ridiculous. Way too often this show ricochets from Jane's other worldly abilities to read situations to his dumb as a box of rocks choices. It's unnerving. And after watching some of the FBI agents do their jobs after the RJ arc ended, watching Rigsby is pure torture. He is just way too ignorant to carry a gun and badge, even after he was no longer in CBI.
