Shot in two weeks in the summer of 2013, writer-director Rocky Hessler spent five years editing the micro-budget tribute to his hometown
Enumclaw, Washington.
The 'Claw was screened for an audience of 400 in September 2017 in Enumclaw, Washington ("The 'Claw") where the film was shot. This was to be a local premiere of the finished film for the town, but many technical problems in the final three weeks slowed down editing and the result was an incomplete version without color grading, final music, and many missing shots and visual effects. Writer-Director Rocky Hessler then spent the following year completing the film for a follow-up screening in Enumclaw in late October 2018.
