That movie has not been fully nailed just yet."But I really do think the combination of the screenplay, and the department heads that are working on the film, and that classy cast of really exciting actors – some of them known for a long time, and some of them having a moment right now – (make me feel that) this movie is special, and it was...

If you're at all familiar with Marvel's First Family, then you'll know they've had to stop Galactus from consuming Earth on countless occasions. However, in Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four, it appears the World-Eater will have a very different reason for visiting the planet.
Undeterred by Disney and Marvel taking legal action to discover their identity, scooper @CanWeGetToast has shared a rumour today claiming that Galactus comes to Earth in search of Franklin Richards (who is reportedly "born in space").
The son of Reed Richards and Sue Storm, Franklin is an incredibly powerful mutant with the ability to create new realities and even rewrite his own.
He has a complicated history with Galactus which has included him actually taking the villain's place in the "Earth X" reality and making the big bad his Herald back on Earth-616 to fend off a Celestial attack. We don't know which comics The Fantastic Four is pulling inspiration from,...

Regarding Pedro Pascal’s involvement with Marvel’s forthcoming Fantastic Four film, the stretchy cat could be out of the bag! According to SAG-AFTRA, Pascal plays the patriarch of Marvel’s first family, Reed Richard, in the superhero spectacle, with production soon to begin. The reveal comes from a career retrospective organized and presented by SAG-AFTRA, saying Pascal “recently wrapped production on Ridley Scott’s highly anticipated Gladiator 2 and will soon begin production on Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four.” SAG-AFTRA redacted the bit about Pascal’s involvement with Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four, but only after eagle-eyed fans spotted the post.

Would you look at that gorgeous Galactus art from Christian Ward? Marvelous! One day after learning that Pedro Pascal is in talks to join the cast of Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four as the stretchy omega-genius Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic), a new rumor suggests Javier Bardem could play the world-eating villain Galactus in the anticipated superhero epic.
The tip hails from industry insider Jeff Sneider, who says the same source that alerted him to Pascal’s possible involvement with the film says Marvel is eyeing Bardem for the classic larger-than-life villain. Sneider says Bardem could be out of the running because of a scheduling conflict with Apple and Joseph Kosinski’s F1 movie starring Brad Pitt, but that doesn’t mean he’s out. Bringing Galactus to the silver screen likely means voice-over and motion capture work for Bardem. Still, elements of the production could require him to be on set.

The first trailer for director John Krasinski’s “A Quiet Place Part II” kicks off with a flashback to the day the sound-sensitive aliens arrived on Earth — as Emily Blunt tries to drive her two children (Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe) out of harm’s way down a busy street.
The new clip, released Wednesday, also flashes forward to Blunt as she and her family — include her newborn child — seek safety away from their farm after the events of the original 2018 horror blockbuster.
The Abbott family discovers other survivors of the alien attack, including Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou, but learns that leaving familiar surroundings may not be all that it’s cracked up to be. The top scripts from Warner Bros, The Black List and Veerhuis Pictures’ second iteration of the Australian Scriptwriting Opportunity have been unveiled, with each of the writing teams now in consideration for a two-step blind feature film deal with WB.
This years “Aussie List” features 11 scripts rather than 10, given Maziar Lahooti, last year’s co-recipient of the blind deal, remarkably made it in again, this time as a solo writer.
More than 250 writing teams opted-in their scripts for the 2019 opportunity via The Black List, with each evaluated and rated via the site’s industry readers and processes. Producer Chris Veerhuis of Wa-based Veerhuis Pictures will now work with WB to determine from the list the recipient(s), if any, of the WB script deal. That opportunity will commit a writer to write a new script (first draft and a rewrite) for WB.

The story of a middle-aged man that remained paralysed after an accident at a construction site and his new Filipino helper can be pretty much summed-up into a paraphrase on Descartes’ most famous quote, “I dream, therefore I am.”
“Still Human” is screening at Five Flavours Asian Film Festival
Winner of the 3rd First Film Initiative (Higher Education Institution Group), „Still Human“ written and directed by Oliver Chan Siu Kuen is yet another of the Hong Kong films that demonstrate not only the interest to remind of forgotten or invisible people of the region, but also the skill to do so without excessive drama and emotional blackmail. It is especially admirable when one takes into account that the premise of “Still Human” just invites for a slide into cheesy melodrama pond.
Leung Cheong-Wing (Anthony Wong) is a middle-aged man who, due to an accident, is now paralyzed from the chest down.

Blake Shelton‘s blues singer Chris Kroeze from Barron, Wisconsin had three final chances to influence America during Monday’s “The Voice” Season 15 finale, but which one of his performances was the best? As a refresher, he sang Lynyrd Skynyrd‘s “Sweet Home Alabama” as his cover song, “Human” as his original single and “Two More Bottles of Wine” as his duet with coach Blake. Our live-blogger Denton Davidson recapped each of Chris’ final three performances, so scroll down to see his snappy reactions.

“Sweet Home Alabama” — watch above
Denton’s take: Chris Kroeze is getting this party started for Team Blake with “Sweet Home Alabama” by Lynyrd Skynyrd. I find this to be so cliche and I’m disappointed in this song choice. How many times have we heard this in singing competitions at this point?...

The fall festival rush is upon us. Locarno is currently ramping up. Venice has released their line-up and Thom Powers and the Toronto International Film Festival team have dropped a bomb with a previously unannounced new feature from powerhouse docu-provocateur Michael Moore. It is truly a miracle that the production of a film such as Moore’s upcoming Where To Invade Next (see still above) managed to go completely undetected by the filmmaking community until it was literally announced to world premiere at one of the largest film festivals in the world. Programmed as a one of the key films in the Special Presentations section at Tiff, the film sees Moore telling “the Pentagon to ‘stand down’ — he will do the invading for America from now on.” Also announced to premiere at Tiff was Avi Lewis’ This Changes Everything, which has slowly been rising up this list, as well as...

With the exception of Cary Fukunaga’s Beasts of No Nation and Tom Hooper’s The Danish Girl, the nineteen other films in Venice Film Festival’s contention for the Golden Lion won’t be mentioned during awards season, but who cares when you have the likes of Aleksander Sokurov, Luca Guadagnino and Marco Bellocchio in the line-up. Not unlike previous years, the 2015 edition has a good numbers of films from Italy and the U.S., with several France co-productions littered throughout and the addition of fresh faces with first time works from composer Piero Messina and artist/musician Laurie Anderson.

On the heels of yesterday's Toronto Film Festival announcement, this morning we get the lineup for the 2015 Venice Film Festival and, as always, there's a little crossover with some films set to premiere on the Lido ahead of their Toronto (and/or Telluride premieres). Some of the titles not screening at Toronto (at least not yet) that will premiere at Venice include Baltasar Kormakur's Everest, which is serving as the opening night film, Drake Doremus' Equals starring Kristen Stewart, A Bigger Splash from Luca Guadagnino, Go With Me directed by Daniel Alfredson, Dito Montiel's Man Down, Amy Berg's Janis as well as a new, 16-minute short film from Martin Scorsese titled The Audition and a Brian De Palma documentary directed by Noah Baumbach and Jake Paltrow. There's also buzz building for The Childhood of a Leader directed by Brady Corbet and starring Robert Pattinson and Berenice Bejo.

The Venice Film Festival has become one of the longest-running events on the festival circuit, its veteran status giving it a level of prestige that has only been heightened by the films that have screened at the event. Having first started in 1932, a number of movies that have gone on to be classics have won prizes at the festival, including Akira Kurosawa’s Rashomon, Satyajit Ray’s Aparajito, and Alain Resnais’ Last Year at Marienbad. Interest in the festival’s lineup announcement has thus grown over the years, with many film fans curious to see what the organisers select to play at the event, due to its stature. The full lineup for the 2015 incarnation of the festival, the 72nd one in the festival’s history, has now been announced. The festival itself will run from September 2nd to the 12th, with a jury that includes Alfonso Cuarón, Nuri Bilge Ceylan,...
