Culinary "Cloverfield"

I learned virtually nothing watching this cooking show. The basic concept is that two homes host competing chefs, who will use whatever is on hand to prepare a 3-course meal. I question how much of the ingredients just happen to be available, but it's not that important.

The biggest issue for me is that whoever directed this seems to suffer from an advanced case of ADD. Everything is shown in 1-2 second clips, with a shaky camera, zooms, etc. It's actually slightly disorienting to watch. Calm down--it's cooking, not a car chase.

Worst kind of TV.

This "reality" show is comprised of two very unlikable chefs entering what seems to be two clearly staged homes, and competing to make the "best" meal which is judged by some of the townsfolk. I cannot stress enough how bad this show is, what I always find fascinating with a good cooking show is demonstration, knowledge & clear skill of the chef, this show is cut so quick and shows so little of anything other than unlikable chefs. I have spent entire days of my life watching cooking shows, I wouldn't finish the second episode

Dreadful

Here are my top 3 reasons this show is terrible

The main host is a pervert. In episode 1 the host is straddling the fridge door and making love noises. Episode 2 he is hitting on another man's wife, and makes disgusting innuendo's like slapping a long slab of meat in your face (camera). Huge turnoff (pun) to an opening.

The show is shot on high speed. Every 2 seconds expect a zoom in, flash, shaking camera or screen change. Not to mention their entire conversation is as if they are talking at 1.5x speed. I get that it adds to intensity but come on.

It's a cooking timer of 60 minutes and I couldn't even see the full method of their cooking. Add this (flash), mix this (flash), cook this, guess what, flash.

I'm done.

Interesting concept. Has potential but definitely needs a few changes.

Okay. The concept of the show is pretty great, I definitely have ideas on how to make it better and more entertaining. I enjoy watching Aldo but Jo, not so much. She makes weird awkward comments and not so funny quips. Also, trying NOT to spoil anything but from what I've seen so far, the fight ain't fair. Jo always gets the better kitchen, nearly always better ingredients. Its more than just slightly better ingredients. In one episode, Aldo had zero meat to work with and she had 3 albeit odd meats. One of the judges even said her meal was more well-rounded. I WONDER WHY?!?! I do agree with other comments about the speed of the show but I didn't mind it too much, I like fast pace and Im not watching it to learn how to cook. With that said, maybe it could slow down a tad bit. I would also continue watching if they switch out the female host. Aldos not amazing but tolerable and entertaining. All in all, show has potential.
