Incongruity always is a hallmark of . . .

. . . The Bullwinkle Show, and this seems to be especially so when it comes to the Dudley Do-Right of the Mounties segments. Take ELEVEN-WORTH PRISON, for instance. Inmate Snidely Whiplash is depicted to be in the possession of a life-size submarine. This is not merely a sandwich, mind you, but a full-scale underwater vehicle intended for the open seas. Viewers are bound to wonder how an inmate has been able to get his hands on such an unwieldy object and possess it within the walls of a maximum-security lock-up. Doubtless the question will present itself as to what good will said sub do Snidely in the hoosegow. Watch ELEVEN-WORTH PRISON to see for yourself.

Just as one cannot fathom a "Chip" without a . . .

. . . cycle, it's hard to wrap your mind around a MOUNTIE WITHOUT A HORSE. But if anyone can accomplish this feat, it is sure to be Dudley Do-Right of the Mounties. Just the other day I was out West in Detroit, and spotted a couple of Mounted Police. Their lassos were readily to hand for a quick draw, as the Motor City cops are famed for always getting their man. Later this month the NFL Draft will take place in Motown, which is sure to be swarming with mounted police then. Their focal point is bound to be Captain Martian, where Marvin tends to hang out with the rest of his rustler gang. However, it's unlikely that Dudley will be summoned across the river from the Windsor Post to provide back-up. As they say in South Detroit, too many pony boys spoil the broth.

Cheerleaders often brag about their ability to . . .

. . . "do the splits," which by definition involves very close contact with the gymnasium floor--or, for high school football games, the surface of the all-weather track. During THE SAWMILL episode of the Dudley Do-Right Show, Nell Fen-Wick is threatened with doing this maneuver the hard way, that is in a vertical fashion rather than the traditional horizontal method sports fans have come to love and expect. Some cheerleaders tend to perform this function in a multi-stage progression, but Nell's impending division appears to loom more immediately, if two or three days can be considered rapid-fire. The Chicago Museum of Coal Mines used to display a lady sectioned much thinner than Nell's impending reduction in its stairwell, but this other female has probably been interred by now due to popular demand.

SAWMILL is such a controversial picture . . .

. . . that I'm not sure whether a reviewer can get away including its title on this site. In Real Life, sawmills are dangerous places which tend to be full of sharp objects. The cutting facility depicted in this episode of Dudley Do-Right seems to be based upon the actual sort of lumber processing facility visitors can tour on vacations to timber country. However, the actions shown during SAWMILL are not consistent with Today's basic safety standards for the industry which America expects to transform logs into boards, fence posts, pencils, toothpicks and saw dust for elementary school art projects. I'd be happy to get more specific, but the censor bots on this site would be likely to silence, muzzle, stymie, suppress and stifle my input.
