- Sandra (Pénélope Leveque), a young woman in her early twenties, is released from a Paris prison on probation and makes her way to the Chamonix valley to find the father she never met. Paul (Bruno Wolkowitch), her father, is a renowned mountaineer who runs a climbing school. Against the backdrop of the Masssif du Mont Blanc, father and daughter struggle to build a relationship made all the more complex by the inability or unwillingness of each of them to open up and talk about themselves and their pasts.
With no education, and a 7 year gap in her resume, Sandra finds it almost impossible to get a job until her father calls in favors from an old flame, one who figures more and more prominently in the story as events progress.
In the village where Paul lives, people who have known him for years fill in some of the details of his background, but the enigma of Sandra's past unfolds only through the indiscretions of the local gendarmerie and the appearance of a friend from prison who needs Sandra's help.
