Awesome pilot!!
Mriveraku10 February 2014
The was a great first episode and kept my interest the entire time. I definitely want to see more!!! It is not often that I like the first episode of a show. However, this pilot was funny and seems like it will be a great series. Football is a huge American sport and a show like this will attract a lot of watchers. It's a unique show and something different from what's typically out there. I am also interested in seeing or getting a glimpse of what happens outside of the field. Love it please keep it! Great story line, I am looking forward to see how things turn out. I want to get into a new show and this is it!! I will be watching this first episode again for laughs!

I Think The Rebels Should Gets Picked up
josta19 February 2014
One thing that kept coming up while I and a few friends were watching The Rebels was, why is this only a 30 minutes show? We want more!! I wish it had been a full hour.

I would give this is an 9 out of 10...

It started out on the WTF side but once it got about 5 minutes in it pulled me in, and just as you start to get into it, it's over!!! It reminded me of a combo of Weeds, Necessary Roughness, and North Dallas Forty... I love the fact that the FOX football show commentators were in this and did a flawless job...

I really hope Amazon pick this up!

Worth having a look ...

After watching the Pilot I have to say the writers did a good job incorporating the wackiness without going over the top like they do in Brooklyn Nine-Nine. The characters are also not overly unbelievable like in Brooklyn Nine-Nine which are totally over the top at times. I am pleased when I don't have to face-palm myself at scenes like when they use corny idiotic used up jokes in other comedy shows.

There are a lot of cliché moments, but it is a cliché story so that is to be expected. I still found it very entertaining and hope it gets picked up for more episodes. All in all very well written for such an cliché story.

Very Nice So Far

Looks like I may have finally found a filler to the Blue Mountain State shaped hole in my heart. After watching this episode on amazon prime I wished for more and am sad that my free trail will most probably be over before this show has more episodes released (and considering how great the pilot was, it probably will). I loved seeing familiar faces (sorry that I don't know their real names) including, Thad Castle from Blue Mountain State, Tavon from The Shield and many others. I love the football theme with the classic rebuilding a terrible team to greatness story. I can't wait for more from this show and might even continue my amazon prime subscription solely to watch more!!

So much potential
booptrs12 March 2014
Really funny and so much potential. I love football movies and shows, but when it comes to football shows, there just aren't enough good ones. I want this show to stay because it legitimately looks good. Please Amazon keep this show. You could have a real hit on you hands. Josh Peck is here and I love him and so does everybody that grew up with Drake and Josh. To see him in a possible new show and being really cool and funny is awesome. Also the scene with the monkey is hilarious. Crack, monkeys, and guns are always a good combo. I just hope amazon keeps this one because it is really funny and a good subject. Way better than Transparant. No offense it it, but this show rocks. I will be praying they keep it. If not then crap. I just hope they keep it.

This Pilot Rocks!

At first glance, 'The Rebels' is a rehash of the old 'First and Ten" show from HBO. But so what? Hollywood has been, and still does, produce movies that are remakes. A lot of us don't even realize that they are remakes. And not surprisingly, or maybe it is, these revisits have done very well at the box office historically. Now if it works for the movies, why can't it work for television? 'The Rebels' proves it can. I loved this episode. It was well written, well directed and well cast. I have a minor issue with the character of the owner's son, Chris. His character is pretty flat. You could take any thirteen year old kid and stick them in the role. The creators did an outstanding job fleshing out the rest of the characters. There is only so much character development you can accomplish in one, short episode. They put their efforts in the right places. The most important things are that the show is entertaining and funny. This is a very well done show and deserves a look.

Hilarious new show from Amazon
lotus_j7 February 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I really expected this show to be dumb. I gave it a chance though, and was shockingly surprised. The jokes were hits more than misses and it makes you wonder what a series would be like. I for one want to see it. The team is crazy, the owner is obviously a fish out of water who has little knowledge of football. The GM is young, but knows football, he kind of has every fan's dream job. The rookie QB is obviously a jerk. The old wise QB has everything but a championship ring. The WR is just flat out crazy. Yes, they're all clichés. It says something when a show can overcome the clichés and still have you wanting more.

The after credits scene with the monkey was worth watching the credits for.

Good actors , weak plot ,seen it done better in the past

Warning: Spoilers
This was a great effort by the casting person of good actors in the roles. Unfortunately, the storyline and jokes just aren't funny . Too many stereotypes and old tired gags. Contains a bad main title song and equally average end title. Talented people working on something you would easily switch . "This show ain't gonna win no prizes" at least not in my opinion. Judge for yourself on Amazon Prime maybe I'm wrong but I don't think so. I am not going to tell you the story because it's in the plot and everything you would think happens actually does. Suffice it to say that nothing original or unique occurs in the half hour that hasn't happened before. No one actor shines or stands out except the use of the occasional profanity.

I thought the pilot was creative and funny.

Warning: Spoilers
I really liked the pilot and I had hoped that Amazon would pick this up and run with it for a few season.

The main characters are good, and the actors seem to fit the roles well.

The humour is just the right side of zany, and without giving too much away, the scene with the monkey doing cocaine at a party and then shooting up the place is priceless.

It has a bit of 'Blue Mountain State' and the brilliant 'Ballers'. And like 'Ballers' it has cameos from true NFL legends. I particularly liked the appearance of the FOX NFL game show hosts such as Terry Bradshaw, Jimmy Johnson and co in the pilot.
