Incessant, ostentatious hero-worship, especially from clingy Randy, and general familiarity in his platoon get too much for star veteran Pete, so he rents a mobile home just off base. Its basic quiet is soon disturbed as Randy and the others lay siege with a noisy party and bitter brotherly regrets. meanwhile the platoon must deal with irrational family anxiety about potholes, but the slightest veracity only fuels it further.
