I can see the value in having 1/2 of the queens in each of the first 2 shows the major problem with the choice was the 2 challenges were extraordinarily different. As a result contestants who may have done poorly with one challenge may have done better with the other. The 2 shows should have been a mirror of each other to allow the "difference" between the 2 groups to become apparent. The whole "sewing" part of drag race seems to be a central focus when most drag queens don't make their own clothes from "scratch" but a queen should be resourceful enough to alter a garment if needed for a task when they are "on the road" and getting a replacement isn't possible due to time constraints.
Just wish the 2 openings were more alike so you could really compare them properly.
