Poor Danny How Much More Can He Take
shelbythuylinh22 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
He really has never caught a break at all. As Steve and now his own mom played by Oscar nod Melanie Griffith and how she and Danny are loud, brash, and outspoken there.

Her character is divorcing her husband and Danny has a fit. Meanwhile Steve goes to ask about why Lou left Chicago as a reporter begins to dig into the truth with or without Steve commenting.

Steve and Lou really begin to bond there. As Lou left over a murder-suicide with a father-son holed up in a house and Lou felt very much ashamed to the point of suicidal thoughts. Leaving the Windy City over nightmares in that case.

Love it when Steve ran to his then blue truck there when he dropped off Danny and his mom at the house as of course, Steve drives due to having an agreement to drive Danny's car, not knowing at the time he gets really carsick if he does not drive.

As COTW is a body in a wall buried up that Max Bergman examines there.

The lost episode
toadwriter28 February 2014
The case Five-O is set to solve involves a dead real-estate agent found in the wall of a house. Later we get closure, but everything that happens up to the ending is a scrambled mess of nothing meaningful. If you're a regular viewer and missed this episode, you should actually feel fortunate.

I have not reviewed an episode of Five-O before, but felt compelled because I really feel this show hit an all-time low tonight. I call this the lost episode because it doesn't seem to draw from anything, nor does it give us anything to look forward to. I guess I'm curious if anyone agrees.

3 new actors show up:

Ethan Embry is a news reporter. Melanie Griffith is Danno's mother. Daryl Hannah did not seem to have a reason for being on the show.

The reporter shows up in Hawaii to dredge up some old case from Chicago that big Lou was involved in. There's a taster's choice moment when Lou cries in front of McGarrett. We now apparently get to look forward to McGarrett opening up to Lou in the future.

Danno's mother shows up to tell him she's getting a divorce; apparently she's not as happy in retirement as she was led to believe by her ex. Previews have her in next week's episode, but I'll just say it was hard watching her act. She did not act her part well, and (this shouldn't matter, but) she's had so much work done to her face, it hardly moved while she was talking. Her and Daryl Hannah both are starting to look a bit like Joan Rivers, and I just couldn't get past that while I was watching.

Worst part of this episode is that there was too much talking (only a short bit of action), and way too much whining from Danny.

In the past we've seen the banter exchanged between Danno and McGarrett, and many times there's funny aspects to that. However, tonight Danno was not funny at all, in fact it was quite annoying.

The last part of the show is what I liked best, but it was rather anti- climactic. An illegal gun-ring leads to the killer of the real estate agent. Turns out, he was the husband of the wife he (the agent) was having an affair with. The husband said, his wife's dying wish was to spend eternity with her lover... a wish he granted by whacking them both and "burying" them in the wall beside one-another.

In sum, I feel the show has lost its edge since Wo Fat is no longer involved. Honestly (and unfortunately), I fear Five-O could face cancellation if it doesn't improve. With so many garbage reality shows, it's nice to have a good drama like Five-O to turn to, but I won't endure more (pointless) episodes like Pale 'la.

Warning: Spoilers
Will someone please explain to me how Melanie Griffith got the part of Danny's mother. From the minute she is on screen, age wise it appears almost impossible that she could be Dan's mother. In addition, with that teenage voice she delivers an almost churlish performance. Also, you can't compare her telling Danny of her divorce intentions to that when the latter told his daughter that he was breaking up with Rachel, his wife.

Imagine a body is found in the wall of a recently purchased home. There are a variety of suspects including realty agent Darryl Hannah who handles her one-scene role in a competent way.

Lt. Grover's sideline story is about the best ever. We discover why he left Chicago after an apparent bungled hostage situation led to the death of a child. A reporter threatens to reveal the situation and Steve is able to avert a nasty situation.
